We’ve been scouring the internet looking for Disney recipes to make at home during quarantine. The first one that caught our eye was the Mickey Mouse-Shaped Beignets on the Disney Parks Blog.

Check out the video to see how it went, buy LOTS of powdered sugar and vegetable oil, and give it a go for yourself! All ingredients and instructions are listed on the Disney Parks Blog, and we found everything really simple to follow.
Only 2 bits of advice:
1. We found the Mickey-shaped cookie cutters hard to use. The dough is really soft and the cutters would stretch and distort the Mickey shape. We made 2 batches, one we cut into squares with a standard pizza cutter, and the other we used the Mickey cookie cutter. We thought the square ones puffed up better (probably because we didn’t fiddle with them as much), and you really need that beautiful bubble in the middle if you’re going for the adult version.
2. There’s no such thing as too much powdered sugar. Seriously. The more the merrier. If you look at pics from Disney parks online you’ll see that they are very liberal in their application of sugar. If you decide to use any chocolate or icing, put that on BEFORE the powdered sugar, or it’ll just roll right off the top.
Here are a few photos from our Disney beignet adventure.
Enjoy, and let us know how yours turn out!
