Disney fam Hello out there Disney fam. My name is Chris and Kelly. Welcome to this week’s episode. We’re so excited to have you. You’re wearing your chipmunk gears and they are a topic adjacent. But not because their parents chipmunk ears,

Kelli 0:48
right? These are Chippendale years. We use a chipmunk I think Alvin Andy,

Chris 0:53
that’s fair. I should have said I should have said Chippendale Chippendale ears.

Kelli 0:57
But these are yes, these are my parents ears. These are the only years I have was fireworks on them. And so I’m calling them what makes them on topic topic for this week. Not topic adjacent on topic.

Chris 1:10
Well, we’ll be the judge that once we hear your way meaning Oops.

Kelli 1:15
Okay, are you Hey, listen to us. We

Chris 1:18
had downloads from Andover, New Jersey. These are 6005 folks west of New York City. It’s fun little Fargo isn’t like a suburb or anything. I think they’re sort of on their way to the Poconos from New York City.

Kelli 1:29
Welcome Andover.

Chris 1:30
Yep, Santa Ana, California. So beautiful suburb of LA and home to bear paint. The bear paint company headquarters.

Kelli 1:39
Well, and also the Santa Ana winds,

Chris 1:42
I guess. You know,

Kelli 1:44
that’s what they say. It’s like when the Santa Ana winds blow then like, things happen. Yeah, we’ll have that movie music and lyrics. Jack Black got a thing in his eye. When the Santa Ana winds blew and then he fell in love with

Chris 2:04
the room you got the movies wrong? Movies wrong,

Kelli 2:06
wasn’t it? It was the holiday the holiday. The Santa Ana winds blew and the holiday got in his eye and then he fell in love with the the lady from England and her brother fell in love

Chris 2:18
with wasn’t Kate Winslet.

Kelli 2:19
I don’t know. You know, I don’t know stuff like that. I’m just saying the Santa Ana winds are a real thing.

Chris 2:25
I think Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant music and lyrics will be very shocked to find out the giant black goth company is

Kelli 2:36
where they’re Santa Ana winds in music and lyrics I

Chris 2:38
believe took place anywhere near Barrymore. I’m

Kelli 2:42
gonna be honest, I knew Hugh Grant Drew Barrymore. Oh, wow. Actually, you know, she’s got like a talk show now. They

Chris 2:49
all do.

Kelli 2:50
She cries all the time.

Chris 2:51
You and I do too. Big D

Kelli 2:58
clip of her on the social she is crying on that talk show. And I’m like, I did not know that drew was such a teary person.

Chris 3:06
What I thought he was also just like me. I thought

Kelli 3:09
she was just down with the aliens.

Chris 3:12
Just at that at and Charlie’s Angels. That’s all she’s got. Segment Lawrence, Texas also, by the way, Lawrence, Texas Lawrence, Texas unincorporated little community of about 300 people not quite Wow. Quite 300 People east to Dallas. I think that’s my favorite one. I love it when these little little BTOB towns and assignments out. Incorporated community. It’s like a community. Nobody knows what the heck is.

Kelli 3:45
Yeah, welcome gangs.

Chris 3:47
Gangnam Gu, Seoul Korea.

Kelli 3:50
Oh like Gangnam Style exactly

Chris 3:51
like Gangnam Style. That’s where the inspiration for the sound came from this region. Seoul

Kelli 3:58
Korea. I know somebody that’s in Seoul, Korea right now.

Chris 4:01
Do you certainly do. We? Our whole household does shout out to her shout out to her. One of our favorite favorite people in the world. On the other side of the world, yes. Gangnam. Gu is, is sold upscale modern Center, home to gleaming skyscrapers, designer brands and stylish nightclubs. Where big name DJ spin techno and house music. Ooh, that’s fine. Also known as Gangnam Style.

Kelli 4:28
Nice. So yeah, very nice. All right. Yeah. It’s funny because it is a Gangbuster this week. Oh, sure. All

Chris 4:35
right. So really just one topic in the news this week that we’re going to talk about, it is the it is the huge news. That Genie plus is effectively going away as a brand. And starting July 24. They will replace Jeannie plus with the Lightning ring. Let’s just we’re just going to simplify and say lightning lane. Okay. And I think there was probably a lot of confusion around. Well, do I need to buy lightning lane? If I’m buying Genie plus and, you know,

Kelli 5:14
I mean, I’d never got it right.

Chris 5:15
I know. I know

Kelli 5:16
called the Fast Pass first of all right? I’d be like, do we have fast pass for this? And you’re like, yep, net 10 I still call it fast pass. So I get the confusion there. Sure.

Chris 5:27
I do too. So now the branding is lightning lane. Okay. Okay, you got standby lane, you got Lightning lane. Okay, now, you can buy the lightning Lane multipass, which gives you the lightning Lane access as long as you book your times gives you lightning Lane access to the lightning lane of all the attractions that are included in lightning.

Kelli 5:52
And that’s essentially what Genie plus is what Genie plus was right? If you paid for Genie plus for the day, you got

Chris 5:59
access as long as you booked and found time windows, right? And then this this whole idea of stacking became a thing and right whatnot.

Kelli 6:09
So let’s let’s break that down. So if you play if you paid for Genie plus for the day, yes. Then you were able to book certain rides at certain times. That’s right, essentially getting lightning lanes or fast passes for those rides or those rides. But then there were certain rides that were extra in addition to that, exactly. And those were like ones everybody wants to ride.

Chris 6:29
Well, yeah, but it’s usually one maybe two rides in a specific Park. Right, that would fall outside of Genie plus, that you would pay extra for and that that’s what we called lightning lane. Right. But but you still went to the lightning lane. Even if you bought Genie plus Yeah, super weird.

Kelli 6:46
Okay, but so that’s what Genie plus was. That’s right. You had basic free Genie. And you could just go in and it would help you plan your day with no cost. Then you had Genie plus which you pay for for the day? Yes. And you could book certain rides,

Chris 6:59
so certain rides as long as they were available, and then

Kelli 7:03
you would pay outside of that for other rides that were sort of the most popular most popular rides. And so now Genie plus the brand is gone. Right? But lightning lane,

Chris 7:15
it will be gone July 24. Yes, lightning lane is the lightning

Kelli 7:18
lane is basically now the thing so there’s lightning lane for one or a lightning lane. multipass. Exactly. Okay, so explain those two.

Chris 7:27
So lightning Lane multipass is what Genie plus used to be and so you pay upfront for lightning Lane multipass. And with that, you’re going to get the ability to book lightning Lane access to most rides, okay. Now, previously also a genie plus, you only got to you would have to buy Genie plus, and book your, your, your lightning lanes that day, that same morning, which is why people like me, get up at 7am by the genie plus for the family. And then book the rides right? As fast as you can. Right. Now, if you are staying on a Disney Resort property, you can book three lightning lanes using the lightning Lane multipass you buy it and then you can book them seven days in advance of your stay. If you’re staying on property if you’re staying on property. If you’re not staying on property, you can book three days in advance of your stay. Okay? Okay. So that’s the general idea seven days before your first day of your trip, you can start planning your lightning lanes for your entire trip as long as your trips not more than seven days long. Kind of trips more than seven days long. Then you’re gonna have to do that also for seven days prior okay for seven Right? Exactly. Okay, so So that’s that’s a change it’s a big change Okay, from Genie plus I no longer had to buy it same day book it same day etc. That

Kelli 9:06
was a huge rush and yes, very inconvenient for you. very inconvenient for me

Chris 9:10
personally, I am down with that particular change.

Kelli 9:15
Unless now is it at 7am Seven days in advance it

Chris 9:18
is. It is still 7am It’s just 7am What

Kelli 9:24
is it with the seven

Chris 9:29
who knows. So, so yes, seven days if you’re staying on property and three days if you’re not there’s some other caveats there but that’s effectively okay now the other thing that you does it cost it’s gonna vary just like Jeanne plus vary day by day it’s gonna vary based on park based on day all availability demand, all that fun stuff, right. So the other the other thing that genie plus had appears to be Going away now is you had you could book you could book I think up to three fast passes with Jeannie plus at 7am. Get in there give him she just call them fast I did a column whitening lane. Sorry. So then as soon as with Genie plus you then had to wait two hours 120 minutes to book the next lightning right? With this you you can book your next lightning lane as soon as you have used one of your lightning lanes, right which is how the old fast pass system which is how the old fast pass system worked right where you had what you walked up to a kiosk ease out. I’ve used one. I’m gonna get another one now. Right right now you do that from your from your app. Right? Okay. So, book a fast pass for early in the morning. Right? Right, go use it. Soon as you got that ride, pop up in your app sit. There’s a Fastpass available for something you want.

Kelli 10:58
So it really discourages you from stacking everything in the afternoon. It

Chris 11:02
should help prevent some of that you because if something comes available, that wasn’t available when you first booked, now you can get it right. And it doesn’t have to be late in the day necessarily. Right, right. Yeah. The other the other thing to know about lightning Lane multipass is when you make those initial first three selections, they have a tier system. So there are certain rides at each park, that are called tier one rides, and then everything else will be tier two. So when you’re deciding on your three selections to make for your day in that park, you can either choose one of the tier one selections, and two of the tier two, or you can just choose three of the tier two. Okay? Now, once you have been to your park, you’ve used one of your lightning lanes. Now you’re not restricted by that you can go get another tier one ride if you if it’s available. Okay. Right then. So so let’s take Magic Kingdom as an example. I set up Space Mountain as my as my tier one. I’ve got it at 10 o’clock. And I got the and then my two I got haunted mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean at 830 and 930. Right. So I’ve got a tea. I’ve got two tier twos and then I got a tier one right? Once I go use my haunted mansion lightning lane at 830. I can now go book Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, just another tier one, which is a tier one at whatever time

Kelli 12:48
it’s available without paying extra without

Chris 12:51
paying extra. Right. So that’s so now I’ve got two tier ones that are currently stacked. And then it doesn’t matter that they’re tier ones and once I the only time I’m restricted by that tier one, tier two is when I’m making that initial first three selections,

Kelli 13:09
so then you’re not paying throughout the day again for another lightning lane. Exactly.

Chris 13:14
For any for those for the for the lightning lane. multipass there’s there there are certain rides that are not included in the lightning lane. multipass just like the genie plus

Kelli 13:27
Right, right. So you still have to pay extra for those. You’re

Chris 13:31
still at the Magic Kingdom for example, you’re still going to have to pay extra if you don’t want to stand in the standby line for seven doors mine train and Tron.

Kelli 13:39
I’m surprised that Tiana is not already on that list. Tiana

Chris 13:43
is part of the tier one.

Kelli 13:46
Yep. Okay. I mean, Tron does not surprise me. Right? So

Chris 13:49
they have swiped by lightning multipass and I want to buy Tron and then I also want to buy Tron so I can buy a lightning Lane single pass. And

Kelli 13:59
you could do that seven days in advance. Yes. Okay. That’s right.

Chris 14:02
As long as you’re in the time’s right. And my understanding is that times work the same as they did with Genie plus and the individual lightning lane. Yeah, where you can you get a lot more flexibility for that individual that lightning single pass and choose what time you want to go. Right. Whereas with the lightning like multipass you sort of choose from windows that they offer you

Kelli 14:23
right. Okay, that’s interesting. Yeah, I mean, I think they’re gonna get a lot of hate as they always do. When they make these types of changes. People say their money grabbing and stuff like that. I think the reality is it’s it’s all crowd management, and

Chris 14:37
read profit. I mean, because demand says they can do it and they’ve, they’ve been killing it. Yeah. But people have also the complaints have also been that all the old Fastpass system was better. Well, this brings us much closer to how the old Fastpass system work. It also makes it much easier to stack and get in More of those drags done via lightning Laindon than you could under the

Kelli 15:03
not stack all the afternoon. Right? This encourages stacking in the mornings. Yeah.

Chris 15:08
Or just goes long as you can this every time you use one, stack everything

Kelli 15:12
early so that you can go in and use one. Yes, start scheduling for

Chris 15:16
this this highly, there’s much more, you know, I encourage you to have a couple things right, scheduled in in the morning so that you can just sort of keep overlapping and overlapping and overlapping, right.

Kelli 15:29
Yeah. And so I’m assuming then that it does allow you to overlap which with the Fastpass system you couldn’t? That’s right. But with lightning lane, you have been able to Yes. So that’s, I think it’s a good. I think it’s an improvement.

Chris 15:41
I think it’s a I think it’s, I think it is a change didn’t go as far as people want, which would have been making free, right? They’re not going to do that. But it does go much closer to what people have complained about have asked for.

Kelli 15:54
I mean, I hate to lose the genie plus brand name, because I think it’s brilliant. That the genie plans your day and everything. But I was also confused, most confusing lightning lanes and fast passes and Genie pluses and all of that I’d never understood it.

Chris 16:08
Yep. Now it’s lightning lane, effectively, the way to think about it. It’s like the lane. And you can either buy it or you don’t have to buy it. But no, when you buy it, it’s going to include most of the rides. But there’s always going to be one or two premium rides in each part. animal kingdoms got one premium ride. I think only one premium ride at Hollywood Studios. That’s Rise of the resistance. at Epcot. There’s cosmic rewind is the one and then there’s two Magic Kingdom. Yeah, that’s it. I mean, those are the premiums that you would have to pay extra for. Right. And it’s all lightning. Right, which I think is a nice, I think that’s good. I think it’s simplifies it for sure. And that was really the big goal of theirs. Yeah. So yeah. All right. You got everybody good. Everybody’s got it. Everybody understands winding lane. Awesome. Awesome. Can’t wait to to plan 7am Seven days before my next. So big big holiday coming up this week. July The fourth is coming up and man everywhere celebrate slot the fourth. But having moved to Nebraska. These folks celebrate. Middle America loves a duty of July 4, and they love July 3. I do. And they love July that I think that hurt somebody loving June 30 A few minutes ago.

Kelli 17:28
They love June 30. I’ve never. I mean, you know in South Carolina that there were fireworks the whole month. July 3 is as big as July 4 I’ve ever

Chris 17:38
seen. And both of them are bigger than any single day we experienced for July 4 Back in the Carolinas. Yeah, it is. We’re gonna sit on our balcony. We’ve got a pretty good panorama of all of Lincoln, Nebraska from our balcony. And from as far as we can see, to the left to as far as we can see to the right it’s going to be a firework show,

Kelli 17:58
and I’m going to buy sparklers this year. Honey, I haven’t told you Oh, I’m gonna really I’m gonna really Oh, packages of Spark sparklers.

Chris 18:09
Guys, you are who are you? Right?

Kelli 18:13
But not for fireworks. I’m going to use them for like my monthly New Moon workshops and stuff. Like, you know, honestly, the neighbors already think I’m crazy. They do. So if I’m dancing in the backyard with some sage and you know sparklers. They’ll be like yeah, okay. It must be must be a new moon.

Chris 18:37
So what are we going to talk about for the job? Fourth, I’ll give you three guesses.

Kelli 18:41
Okay, three guesses? Fireworks?

Chris 18:43
No, I’m not. That’s what I’m talking about. What else? Food Food. Of course. We’re gonna talk about food. So for the July the fourth, Disney comes out while Disney World in particular comes out with lots of amazing food items to celebrate the birth of this wonderful nation. All right, so let’s start we’ll start with animal kingdom. From July the first or July the fifth at Animal Kingdom, pizza farI and restaurant a Saurus. You can get the Fourth of July cupcake ready? This is a strawberry cake filled with blueberry compote. Red White and Blue vanilla icing white chocolate shaped Mickey decoration and Goldstar sprinkles. Oh my gosh. Strawberry cake with blueberry compote.

Kelli 19:34
I like it. I’m for it. I think they could have gone with a mousse but I’m fine. I’m fine with the compote.

Chris 19:43
Champagne problems. Magic Kingdom I should put some champagne and ooh actually. Animal Kingdom at draw Magic Kingdom Liberty Square market from June the 30th. So today through July the sixth, we’ll have the red white and blue slug See? This is frozen Fanta blue raspberry and cherry Fanta layered with whipped cream and topped with popping candy.

Kelli 20:13
I’ll take it. I’ll have it. Yeah. Can they add some vodka to that?

Chris 20:17
It’s Magic Kingdom. Bummer. That’s a good idea that would get me to get it. I’m not a big slushie

Kelli 20:25
fan. No, but I like the popping stuff. I like that. Sure. The feel is a good mouthfeel I like that. All right.

Chris 20:33
From June 30 to July 6 Sleepy Hollow will have the red white and blue funnel cake. funnel cake topped with mixed berries, vanilla ice cream and festive sprinkles. Red, white and blue sprinkles.

Kelli 20:44
the interwebs by the way, melted down this week because Sleepy Hollow has taken away the chicken waffles. Oh, well, rightly so Internet just had a complete option fit. Oh, hoof what I saw out there. People are not happy with that. So

Chris 21:00
it was just sad. I mean, keeping that fruit when I bet I hope so.

Kelli 21:04
But maybe they were just you know, making some space for the funnel cake the red white and blue funnel cake. Okay, you liked it that much. Then why didn’t you buy it if you bought it, they would have kept it.

Chris 21:13
That’s facts. Facts. Yet money. Jumping over to Epcot, the Regal Eagle Smokehouse from today until July 7. We’ll have a barbecue pulled chicken sandwich with housemade pickles coleslaw and an onion ring on a brioche roll. This thing’s cool looking. And I think barber shredder pulled chicken barbecue is underrated. But I saw the picture of it. The picture should have had more barbecue. It looks like it’s mostly beautiful brioche with this branded regal legal thing on the top of the barn. And coleslaw and the big onion ring. All looks great. But it needed to have more. More barbecue arboriculture just

Kelli 22:01
a barbecue sandwich there. They need to have a beverage they need to have a dessert is that really all they’ve got? At the Regal eagle, the Regal Eagle than anything else at the American adventure aid

Chris 22:12
and nothing else in Epcot. There’s really only a couple of things in each

Kelli 22:15
park. But you would think in America that really they

Chris 22:19
do really be going all out. America, right

Kelli 22:23
America would have some cupcakes and some you know, watermelon. I don’t know what else do people have potato salad? Yep, everything would be like red, white and blue seen? Sure. You know people love to make those like red white and blue desserts, blueberries and raspberries. Like why didn’t regal Eagle do that? Why not? We’re Sammy.

Chris 22:42
We could Yeah, I hear ya. Red White Blue cheesecake.

Kelli 22:47

Kelli 27:22

Chris 27:22
anyone that like that Red Riding brownie would just be darlin at the Regal, Regal

Kelli 27:29

Chris 27:34
He did. He did he did really fun to say the Regal Beagle. Because Because we watched Three’s Company.

Kelli 27:41
That’s funny because you’re saying that’s what they said on that show. And I would have bet money. They said regal eagle was a regal Eagle because I remember thinking oh my gosh, they said regal Eagle wonder if that’s where that came from.

Chris 27:51
The Regal. Regal Eagle. is following it in though because some of these desserts sound Yeah, just amazing. Awesome. Those those things they’re doing the brownie and, and the cheesecake thing. Just they’re just beautiful. And I sent you some pictures to include Perfect. Perfect. So are you ready for your World Showcase? Ready, honey? Right. So

Kelli 28:13
as I’ve already mentioned, I’m doing fireworks. Right. So nothing is more American than food and fireworks. Right. And so I’m literally nothing. I’m gonna give you the top 10 facts about the Disney fireworks.

Chris 28:27
Oh, okay. I mean, it’s one of my favorite things is the Disney

Kelli 28:31
fireworks. It is yeah, absolutely. So they Disney Land debuted the first ever firework spectacular in 1956, about a year after the park opened, okay. It was something that Walt wanted. Okay, really, because he wanted something that we keep guests there throughout the night and keep them there later. So that’s something he wanted. He also wanted Sleeping Beauty Castle to be the backdrop. But this was still a very experimental phase. You know, after two years and evolved, they were still lighting these things by hand, which obviously they don’t do anymore because it goes to music and everything. But after about two years, it had become more of a themed overall show that people actually looked forward to. That’s when it became known as fantasy in the sky spectacular.

Chris 29:20
So it’s been fantasy in the sky for that for like a

Kelli 29:23
long time. Okay, interstage left Fact number two tank. Okay, so tank became so closely associated with a theme park because of the Disney TV show. She would introduce the land of the park, that the guests were constantly asking where’s Tinkerbell? Right, so Walt came up with an answer in the summer of 1961. They decided to have a real life Tinkerbell fly over Sleeping Beauty Castle during the nightly fireworks display. Well, our first Tinkerbell was tiny Klein. Okay, she was Tink from night. In 61 to 1963, her name was actually Helen douche before married before marriage, tiny became the first American came to America as a Hungarian immigrant at the age of 14 as part of a dance troupe. Upon arriving in America, she lived in the clarity here home, which is a boarding house and industrial school in New York City for Jewish immigrant working girls. So the idea behind that house is they would learn how to trade typically a seamstress Okay, through a series of unfortunate events, including her husband dying five weeks after their wedding, Klein had to make it make it on her own as something other than a seamstress. She refused to become a seamstress. Instead, clients like you know what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna be a burlesque dancer. Okay. I’m telling you, like she on that she did great. Fast forward about 25 years. She now had experience working in the circus as part of an iron jaw act, where she would hold on to like a ring with her jaw and slide down a line. Okay. So, on August the first 1958, she finds herself strapped into a harness as part of the Disneyland comes to the Hollywood Bowl event that featured a medley of songs from Disney motion pictures, okay. Walt is there in the audience with his wife and his brother Roy, and brother Roy’s wife, Edna, they were completely taken by her performance as Tinkerbell that Walt is like we need her. Okay. But it took three years, the summer of 1961 before that came true. Okay. He asked her to repeat that at Disneyland said she had demonstrated she could handle it. This has always been the assumption. There’s no hiring paperwork for tiny climb, not even in the Disney archives. Nobody really knows how or when she was hired. What we do know is that she insisted on hanging by her teeth. While she was doing it so that she could look up she was scared of heights. So if she looked, she couldn’t see the ground. And eventually they made her do it another way because she’s in her 70s For goodness sake.

Chris 32:15
She is in her 70s basically performing an iron jaw as Tinker Bell routine.

Kelli 32:20
And they said that they would have people her handlers would have to basically chase her up the matter horn because she was so fast. But then she gets to the top and she would look down and they would have to give her a shove because she was so scared. Yes, absolutely amazing. So at age 70, she becomes the first Tinkerbell at Disneyland suspended 146 feet up in the air. She glided down a 780 foot 84 foot load cable from the Mater horn sleeping beauties castle at roughly 30 miles per hour. That’s fast. That’s fast to signal the beginning of the fireworks. The entire trip took approximately 30 seconds she was four feet 10 inches tall and weighed 98 pounds. So she would land into a couple of mattresses that were being held up by football players. And she loved to hit these mattresses like so hard that they would knock over the football players and she would like pop up and go thanks boys. So you performed for three summers despite battling stomach cancer. Oh my gosh, died on July the fifth 1964 at age 73. It is buried in Inglewood Park seminary and Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. The message on her gravestone says tiny Helen Klein, our Tinker bill. Richard Sherman was talking to Walt one night after the fireworks and he stopped to tell him that his favorite experience is the display with Tinkerbell Walt said that Charmin remembered that Walt wiped a tear. Charmin said that Walt responded by wiping a tear from his eye and said, Yep, kiss me every time. God

Chris 34:05
that’s so awesome. This woman with her seven year old cancer they Battle Rams into a bunch of football players is like Thanks, boys. Come on. Women are great. Okay,

Kelli 34:15
three fact three. Mary Poppins Dumbo, Nemo and even baby New Year have all sorted through the air at Disneyland. Always eating. Okay, moving on. I’m gonna move through these fast because if I got a little bit time left by the lighter part of the 1960s Disney had adopted a push button system for firing the fireworks which made it easier to synchronize with the Music Okay, so you something launches in the late 50s 10 years later. We’ve got Tink we’ve got a system in it synchronized with music right? Nothing does that like Disney? That’s a fact. Okay. When Magic Kingdom opened, it immediately had a firework show took a few weeks, but it was almost never without fireworks from the very beginning there first display launched on October 24 1971. In celebration of the Polynesian resorts dedication. I knew you’re gonna love that.

Chris 35:11
The Polly’s responsible for the fireworks at Walt Disney World

Kelli 35:14
while most other fireworks rely on gunpowder for the initial launch, Disney does something naturally uniquely differentiated they use compressed air, which helps avoid leftover fumes and gives a better breathing environment for Disney guests. It has also been known to produce a higher launch going back to the fact that Disney fireworks can be seen far and wide. Sure, naturally, no surprise number seven. They have various patents relation in relation to fireworks because of their ingenious using, including number eight, they have sprinklers on top of the buildings around Cindy’s castle, and they wet them down before the firework show. You’ll also see them wetting down the ground. So we

Chris 35:59
said that this last trip all the times we’ve gone we were walking through at night and said it’s always a puddle right here, right? And it’s

Kelli 36:07
because they let them down. They run the sprinklers on top of the castle and everywhere else. They have had a couple of fires. We ran on seven doors mine train, remember Yeah. But now obviously they take it very seriously. And that sprinkler system is part of that. Awesome. Okay, last tip. The Walt Disney Company holds the record for being the largest consumer of fireworks in the entire world. They set off well over 1 million fireworks annually at their various venues all over the globe. The company is credited with being the second largest purchaser of explosives outside of the US government. They fall just behind the United States Department of Defense.

Chris 36:46
Not surprising, if you spend a week at Disney, you cannot How do you come away from they’re not thinking? What do they spend on just the firework budget.

Kelli 36:55
I’ve got though, each firework show cost approximately $33,000 to put on, do the math, that’s about $40 million per year, which sounds like a fairly large budget. But if you put it into perspective, in 2017, Walt Disney World had 55 million visitors. So it’s only about $1 from each ticket that goes towards the fireworks.

Chris 37:17
Isn’t that interesting? Isn’t it though? I mean, it is to me, right? I mean, I would have thought that each one of their shows is more than $33,000 with fireworks. Yeah, I don’t know anything about fireworks

Kelli 37:27
costs, right? I agree. I mean, they’ve got patents. I mean, just the idea that they went from nothing, you know, to 10 years later patents synchronized to music. Somebody’s flying 73 And she’s holding on by her teeth that are not dentures. Right? I just want to say, and in the 60s, a 73 year old woman that does not have dentures has to be a fit.

Chris 37:55
Basically a unicorn is what she is. She looks like a 73 year old amazing lady. She’s actually unicorn,

Kelli 38:01
four foot, four foot 10 foot 1098 pounds, eight pounds 76 years old to those mattresses just to knock over the football player and say like

Chris 38:11
it’s a carnival like it’s a carnival game.

Kelli 38:13
Thanks boys.

Chris 38:16
Thank God for Disney’s firework shows man because totally right. i We have gone to parks in the evenings for no other reason than to make sure that we see the fireworks and one of the thing now it it was I mean, I talked about the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom and I think our very first episode, because it’s such a indelible core memory.

Kelli 38:38
I think it’s also brilliant for other reasons. It brings everybody to the center of the park and in most cases near the exit and they can just assure you straight down after the fireworks right. So it makes everybody a little bit easier to round up. I think again, crowd management genius Yeah,

Chris 38:55
