Disney and the new Oversight Board have settled on an agreement which effectively ends all state level litigation between the two parties. Okay, Disney’s comment on this was this. We are pleased to put an end to all litigation pending in state court in Florida between Disney and the Central Florida tourism oversight district. This agreement opens a new chapter of constructive engagement with new leadership of the district and serves the interests of all parties by enabling significant continued investment and the creation of 1000s of direct and indirect jobs and economic opportunity for the state. Okay, so I didn’t read the the full agreement but blog Mickey who we get a lot of stuff from, they do a great job. They listed sort of the highlights of the agreement. Okay. And the the three that really stuck out to me, which effectively to me means this is going to be business as usual. For Disney Good, the district and the day and Disney will not contest the actions of the Reedy Creek improvement district prior to DeSantis. This takeover. So part of the lawsuit from the board to Disney was right before the takeover, Reedy Creek district implemented all these rules that effectively made the new board impotent. They there was a lot they couldn’t do, right. And so So now they’re basically saying, Okay, well, that’s gonna stand, okay. The district will amend the 2020 Comprehensive Plan, consulting with Disney for a new plan. So meaning we’re not going to contest the old plan, we’re gonna but we’re going to revise our own 2020 plan. And Disney will have a say in a say in what happens. DeSantis did replace a board member with Gosh, what’s his name? I can’t remember his name. But he was the CEO of bags, Inc. Bags Inc. was the company that got your bags to and from the airport when you would take the Magical Express. That’s cool. And so they he has since sold that business. And he’s been on some other boards. And so now he sits on this board. Okay, I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but it’s something okay. He’s at least familiar with the inner workings. It seems like it yeah, yeah. So. So that’s all good. The federal case against DeSantis. Specifically, that’s held up an Appeals is still technically live. But it appears that they are also working out some settlements. DeSantis has made a statement about it and about the agreement with the board. And his tone has not surprisingly toned down quite a bit, not nearly as antagonistic is talking about. He knows that Disney is going to want to be competing with universal. And so instead of building a prison out there, like he’s like they suggested, maybe Disney will instead build a fifth Park.

Now, they took some amazing photos, as they always do, and literally, like, point out the various things that they saw from the top of their flight. Okay, that’s cool. Really, just one one of them took the fly. Yeah, that’s cool. So. So this was launched at Disney Springs in April of 20, of 2009. It’s been around around for a minute. Back then it was known as characters in flight by Arrow file. And the balloon was sort of decorated to to show Disney characters on it. But in 2017, it was reframed, repainted, and rebranded to better fit with the vibe of the newly remodeled Disney Springs.

lot of times it has been what I did, we were hanging out at the Starbucks there right beside it once and I watched it go up and down quite a few times, but it will not fly during a storm or if if winds exceed 22 miles per hour. So that’s why it’s down a fair amount. Because you know, Florida weather is pretty, pretty fickle. Right? And I I’m great with heights.

So this is Captain Jack’s restaurants in Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris. Yes, we lucked out because we were walking through the park, and we come up on it, and it’s like it’s closed. And literally sitting on the wall outside of it. We just started, you know, messing around, and I said, this has a reservation for 6:45pm tomorrow. And we didn’t have tickets for the next day. Right? And we were like, Okay, well,

So we just literally stumbled into it. I think it was like a soft opening out of town. So here’s what I will say about Captain Jack’s when we saw it had been redone. So it reminds me the closest thing we’ve got to it here in the States, I think is the Mexico pavilion.

So as soon as you transfer, you know, walk through the doors, you are transported into what feels like a Caribbean island at night. Yeah. And you’re eating on the beach. Yes, yes, exactly what it feels like. And the reason I say it reminds me a lot of Mexico is because the boat Pirates of the Caribbean ride goes through the restaurant. And in a very similar fashion to how the Mexico pavilion

It is. Feels like somebody smacked you in the face with the sun. Yes. That’s how realistic it is. So anyway, they’ve got a couple of different options. They have a fixed price menu for 45 Euros, which includes a starter, a main course and a dessert. We went ala carte, because you wanted something that wasn’t on the entree list. And I never get my money’s worth out of a fixed price menu because I’m always gonna order the vegetarian dish. And then the dessert we wanted was not on the fixed price menu. So I want to go through and tell you a little bit about what’s on the menu. I think I did this as a Tomorrowland before we went to Disneyland Paris. So now this is going to be us talking about it as we were there. Sure. So our table was right next to the fence like on the beach, right on the water right on the water is what we were in the fence is like a rope fence. I mean again, it’s just it’s so perfect. So for starters, they have spiced black pudding and smoked sausage with a creole style pickled vegetables. I will just say that I googled that because I didn’t know was and that was a mistake. Zero stars do not recommend

They also have a quinoa salad with a spicy cashew dressing. A smoked chicken chick a Talay with a green papaya, a strip ki Creole with Caribbean smashed avocado and a passionfruit dressing, cod fritters fried cassava with tamarind sauce and a Creole cabbage salad. White tutus of each day with coriander lime and fried taco. I think it’s hilarious they call it fried taco and then island style fish soup all of their starters are between 17 Tonight that are felt fairly Caribbean. That felt fairly Caribbean. Yeah. And they’re all again 17 to 19 euros in price. The main courses, the one that I got is the cheapest and that’s the vegetable curry with lentil and plantain that was 32 euros. I went back and looked at my videos from from that, and I described it as almost like a vegetable chili. I said it had much more cumin in it than curry. But I loved it. It was it was absolutely fantastic. I absolutely loved it. I don’t usually like lentil. Yeah, that’s an important note. I’m not a huge fan of lentil. And so had they had another plant based option. I probably wouldn’t have gotten that one because of the lentils, but it is the only plant based option. Okay, so that’s what I got. And I absolutely love love loved it. You got the next thing so mine was 32 euros, yours was 38 euros and this is the grilled fillet of Oahu. Sweet potato mash and tangy multicolored carrots. Yeah, didn’t Google this was Wahoo is that’s beef. Right? Or is that a fish? Well, who is fish? Well, who fish? Okay, so that is 38 euros. How did you like it? Do you remember?

That one’s the most expensive that one’s 41 euros. I don’t know what a parrot fish is. But it feels the name to me feels endangered. And I don’t think we should be eating that. You don’t know that it’s I don’t but the fact that it’s the most expensive thing on the menu I think also says just don’t eat it. I’m gonna have to Google what a parrot fishes I’m looking at one right now but in any case, so all the entrees are between 32 and 41 euros. So, you know again for for what you’re getting in Disneyland Paris that would be considered at you know what we would say $3 signs. At our park is three Euro signs their

Desserts. They have an island style rice pudding with a mango puree. Exotic exotic fruit soup with muscovado sugar coconut and a cashew emulsion. Tonka bean flavor chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream and a spice infused syrup. Sweet potato and caramelized pea can lava cake, shortbread roasted pineapple bourbon with with bourbon vanilla whipped cream and I sorbet Of The Seas which is 15 euros so all of their desserts are either 15 or 16 euros. I’m gonna say I went back and looked at our photo of the dessert that we ordered and I don’t know which one it is. It’s not the the chocolate tart it’s not fruit soup. It wasn’t rice pudding. It wasn’t sorbet so that leaves

Nope I checked I took the picture the menu sweet potato and caramelized pecan lava cake, I don’t know. But we definitely had whipped cream on ours. Which makes me think it was the shortbread roasted pineapple bourbon vanilla whipped cream. It looked like a rolled up you were the the cakes that Little Debbie makes swiss roll Swiss cake rolls with Swiss cake roll. But like a like a darker color cake. That’s probably why we got that and cut it in half and open it up like a hot dog bun and then put a bunch of whipped cream in the middle of that us. So I’m thinking We got that and if so it is horribly described on the menu. I would not have even come close to describing that as shortbread roasted pineapple and bourbon vanilla whipped cream.

And they’re giving the kids coconut crusted chicken Mahi Mahi, too. So like this isn’t we’re not dumbing this down for the kids. Burgers and chicken strips, right. And they do have sodas and a wine selection. So we really enjoyed it.
