elcome aboard Disney fam. Hello out there Disney fam. My name is Chris and I’m Kelli. And welcome to the Supercalifragilistic awesome Disney podcast. We are so excited that you’re joining us. And I was a perfect example of how I just never know what you’re gonna be wearing on your head when you come out of your office.

Kelli 0:49
But my Maleficent do you

Chris 0:51
go Maleficent yours today? I just really caught me off guard.

Kelli 0:54
Yeah, they’re good ones.

Chris 0:55
Yeah, what they are.

Kelli 0:57
I don’t wear them enough. And it’s because they’re they’re slightly too large for my head. Oh, and the whole year is like some kind of a glitter fabric.

Chris 1:08
It is and it hurts sequins.

Kelli 1:11
It hurts your human ears when you put them on. I don’t wear them a lot, but they’re a good set of ears. They

Chris 1:18
are I mean, they’re they are threatening. They are. They are a minister.

Kelli 1:23
I really are. I like them a lot. Did he listen to us this weekend? Yeah. I

Chris 1:27
also want to just call out the folks of Corvallis, Oregon. We called them out a little while back. But nobody downloads as much as the fine folks in Corvallis, Oregon. The whole of the Oregon State Beavers are just so into the podcast. I love them. I also I also love the folks in Palm Harbor, Florida. Oh, this is mean you gotta look at this place on a map. It is like the very essence of beachfront living in near Clearwater, Florida. It is. It just looks awesome. Oh, wow. White Plains, New York. Supposedly the birthplace of New York. Really wiki that will you’ll you’ll read that up? Yep.

Kelli 2:06
Fascinating. Yeah. Okay.

Chris 2:08
I also got a quick mention in that movie Space Camp. Remember Space Camp? Back in the 80s. Real quick mentioned for White Plains, New York there in that movie. Yeah, my movie

Kelli 2:17
viewing in the 80s was was highly structured.

Chris 2:22
I know. A Capshaw Tate,

Kelli 2:25
whatever his name is can’t just any old trash in the 80s great movie

Chris 2:29
you would have been they would have been okay with space camp. It was clean. Lea Thompson, okay. In Oklahoma, in Allah and Allah is a Cherokee word meaning BlackFox it’s also the home of 1600 fine people east of Tulsa. It’s also the weirdest shaped town I’ve ever seen. Wow. Like it’s like, here’s a little part of the town here is a little tiny quarter probably just one street and then another big part of the town over here. Random is a weirdly shaped town but the people there are tremendous and lovely. Yes, no judgment. And lastly, Trondheim, Norway. This sounds so much like a city on Asgard Trondheim. But actually it’s a city on the Trondheim fiord in central Norway well enough you’re right on a fiord so Norwegian it is it’s on a few oh my god that Tron time for you. I

Kelli 3:22
would love to see a few words.

Chris 3:23
I think we should go to Norway. I really do. I’m for that video that used to be the Maelstrom always made me want to go to Norway. It’s good to Norway.

Kelli 3:30
Alright, you

Chris 3:31
ready for some Mainstreet? Action. Let’s

Kelli 3:33
have fun. All right.

Chris 3:36
So the first amendment lawsuit that Disney filed against Florida governor and others was officially dismissed in federal court. In short, it’s a bunch of legalese but I believe that what they’re saying is look yeah, you probably the action for sure hurt your business. But because it was an action that was you know, conducted legally through the Florida legislature to pass a law there’s not you don’t have standing to sue the governor. Right. So in any case, Disney says that this will absolutely not and here and they are appealing and all that fun stuff. And there’s also a there’s a there’s a pending case in state court also. Shop Disney announced that they are rebranding to the Disney Store um for this

Kelli 4:28
and they have if you type in shop disney.com It redirects to Disney sorta Yeah,

Chris 4:32
yeah. We are big fans of another Disney podcast called poor unfortunate podcast. They were chatting about this Connor and Caroline who do a great job. And he had just an amazing idea that he threw out there where put disney store you know brick and mortar locations in big cities. And each disney store would have a lounge or restaurant that was heavily themed so take like Does the Haunted Mansion lounge from Disney treasure? Cruise ship and put it on? I think that is like it’s brilliant. Oh, world class idea. So I hope they do it and I hope he gets tons of credit for Absolutely. That’s

Kelli 5:13
brilliant idea.

Chris 5:14
Good job you guys. Yes. Disney stock jumped after an earnings call us earlier this month or last month. It was earlier this month. With three really sort of major announcements. Maybe four, we’ll talk about one later. They are investing $1.5 billion in Epic Games, which is a game maker for like VR, right? So imagine I’m hoping this comes to fruition imagine putting on your VR goggles and taking a virtual trip to actual Disney World. Yeah, I’m

Kelli 5:49
actually surprised that doesn’t already I can’t

Chris 5:51
believe that doesn’t already exist. I think that’s absolutely something that we’re gonna see in the future. And I’m going to have it if it requires a new VR system.

Kelli 6:00
I mean, you could literally go to Disney anytime you want to ride all the rides. Yes. Yeah. Just walk down Main Street. You’re having a tough day. Yes.

Chris 6:08
Walk walk around Main Street. Go to the Emporium.

Kelli 6:12
Can we figure out how for them to put smell smellivision

Chris 6:14
Yeah. Yes. I mean, pump that idea right into my veins. I would end every day that we know we end every day with great British baking show. In Berlin. Look into our lives, right? How exciting they are. I wouldn’t every day he’s sitting in bed with that VR goggles. Walking around on Main Street. Yeah. At least.

Kelli 6:36
Do it like during lunch like take a lunch break?

Chris 6:38
Please just stop I’m just thinking about it. It’s a lot to think about. So excited to be fun. They also announced that Taylor Swift heiress tour. Tailors version concert film will be exclusively available starting March 15 On Disney plus, and it will it contain new songs not heard during the theatrical release of the night. I love a T swift and Disney partnership. I mean it’s 50 partners you need more of that in the world. It’s do it. They also announced that marijuana the sequel Mallanna to we saw we saw a trailer drop for that looks amazing. Animated animated. Yes. We’ll be coming to theaters later this year instead of going straight to Disney plus, which I think is a huge win. Good, good, good. Let’s see that there. Let’s see other things here. If you heard about Universal Orlando epic lands,

Kelli 7:31
I think I heard something about that

Chris 7:34
epic epic universe. I think rather’s was called right this is this will be is a really big deal. sure to pull they’re trying to grow Universal Orlando do a full week. thing, right a full week vacation, right? I mean, we rarely go to Universal wants in our in our lives. But this this will include four major lands it’ll have a Ministry of Magic for Harry you know, Harry Potter themed Super Nintendo World, it’ll mirror the one that recently opened last year. The Isle of Burke How to Train Your Dragon themed. Oh, that’s fun. Yeah, it sounds right. Yes. And it sounds like they’re gonna do some really, really cool stuff there. That would be cool. And a dark universe land which is basically classic movie monsters. Oh, that’s okay. So they’ve already jumped on your idea. villainous

Kelli 8:23
idea? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I think that’s coming at WWE. I hope

Chris 8:28
so. I think it’d be great. Yeah. Okay. So related to the epic universe news, right. Bob Iger at the inn during the earnings call, dodged a question specifically asking if Walt Disney World intended to open up for a fifth key or a fourth or fifth full on theme park to sort of like, compete with what universal is doing

Kelli 8:58
an entire theme. Entire edition behind right.

Chris 9:01
So someone asked that you do you think you need to have a fifth key right there. A fifth gate? Wow, that that would help to make all Disneyworld even more appealing as compared to what universal is doing. He did not say he did not say no. He didn’t say yes. He sort of ducked it. Right. So lots of lots of curiosity around that.

Kelli 9:29
I mean, it might depend on how much the government oppresses them. I think that’s probably right. I mean, it might be easier to build that in California, for example, where they’re talking about those big huge expansions. Right. So

Chris 9:40
during the call, you know, realistically, yeah, it was announced that of the $60 billion that Disney plans on investing in parks and experiences 70% of that money will go toward capacity, increasing expansions. So that was what was stated, right? And so that The follow up question was, does that mean you’re going to open a fifth gate at Disney World? Right? And then he sort of, he dodged didn’t really answer it. Yeah. So Wow. And you know, in a year ago, last year, or the year before, they talked about Super turbo charging, they used the term turbo charging growth at the parks. So that sort of all goes hand in hand.

Kelli 10:22
So increasing capacity could mean adding a massive area to one park that we’re crowds would go. That’s that’s a big a whole new park. Right.

Chris 10:31
That’s the big knock on Disney world right now is that it’s so crowded and the lines are long. And what are we doing to to disperse some of those crowds, there are small things they can do, which we’re going to talk about here in a second, like Hollywood studios, their their, their casting for performers in the new, or the relaunch of the Little Mermaid show at Hollywood studios, right, that will pull people in that currently today don’t have that to go to. But then there they need more, because it’s yeah, they need more and universal is nipping at their heels. Yeah,

Kelli 11:02
the difference is, though, we’ve been to universal, and while they do have great ideas, and you know, I would say even good execution, their rides are not as inclusive and friendly, friendly. In general, yeah, they’re more of a thrill Park more of a thrill part, but also, from a capacity standpoint, their flow is disastrous, we lose. So it’s been a while we should, we should but I mean, we can’t widen the roads, right? And that’s the difference when you’re walking down a road at Disney. It may feel crowded. It’s a massive road. And when you go to Universal and you see the size of the roads in their park, you feel you’re like, oh my gosh, more constraints much more constrained? Well,

Chris 11:43
again, I just spent a long time since we were at a universal Park. But what we noticed that time was that they miscalculated what people would want to do. Oh, yes. Right. So the dueling, the dueling dragons will even more specifically the dueling dragons ride was a walk on. Yeah, right. Whereas, go get your wand was a massive long line, right? Yeah. Right. Because people want that experience. It’s not a thrilling it’s not a roller coaster. But they want to feel that store

Kelli 12:16
was too small all of Anders was way too small lines to get through Harry Potter just to get into like honey Dukes and stuff way too small,

Chris 12:25
because people people are looking for those experiences, not just the thrill of them. And

Kelli 12:29
I will say having gone to the Harry Potter experience in London. Yes. It’s, it’s phenomenal. It’s amazing. And I would recommend that over Universal Studios. Any day. I understand people can’t always just fly to London. But the stores, the merch, the space, it’s all laid out so much better than what they’ve got at Universal and I was really really impressed specifically with like all of Anders and the wines, the number of ones that are available. Sure. It was just totally different experience.

Chris 13:02
Some quick hitters here topiaries are starting to land at Epcot. Which is exciting. We’ll get to see them in 21 days three weeks from today is the did you see that? The Pixar place Hotel opened up at at Disneyland. Whoo. I did. Yeah. So the Pixar place hotel it was completely already existed, but they redid it used to be like Paradise Pier or something or something like that. Now it’s Pixar place. It’s beautiful. The lobby is amazing. The coolest thing I’ve seen Scott Gustin tweeted this out is that they’ve got a piano in the lobby. And Joe gardener plays jazz on the piano. It’s so good. Like the actual Joe gardener, surreal human real Garmin, Joe gardener sitting there playing jazz. So that’s a nice time. Yeah, it looks so good. That’s lovely touch. Okay, so we’ll we’ll say the rest of the news for next time and we’ll hit up Tomorrowland.

Kelli 13:56
Let’s get Marlene. Oh, wait, I’m Tomorrowland. Okay, well, I’ve messed that up. Okay.

Chris 14:05
We had a whole conversation about

Kelli 14:06
our conversation about it and I’m completely

Chris 14:10
okay, so I’ll do all showcases time.

Kelli 14:12
Yep, sorry. Okay, so we’ll just call it Tomorrowland. Okay, so I’m talking about Disney Villains clue. I just played it a couple of times. So we were one of those people that love board games. Specifically love a good board game. And so when we go into the parks and I see board games for sale, I’m very attracted to them. There’s there’s classical classic old board games, I want them so there’s a lot of differences in Disney board games. And I’ve often said we should launch a Disney board game YouTube channel and I think we will we’ll get there eventually. You know life, but we own a lot of different ones. Okay, so Disney regularly partners with Hasbro USA opoli Parker Brothers Raven. Is burger Funko so they have a lot of different brands. Now some of these you can only get at Target some you can only get on Amazon some are Hot Topic exclusive. Some are parks merch exclusive. So here’s what I want to say is if you’re a board game person, they’re everywhere. And it’s a lot of different versions. And so specifically today I wanted to talk about they’ve got so many different versions of clue. But I want to focus on the one that we just played the other week because I thought it was a lot of fun. So the one I’m talking about is Disney Villains clue. And this is the Disney Parks merch versions, you can only get this in the Disney parks, or on eBay. If somebody’s purchased it, you’re willing to pay twice the amount. So this is made by USA opoli The name clue is licensed by Hasbro. If you’re looking for it, because there’s different versions of Disney’s villains clue even, it looks like a big brown book. And it opens up like a book with a spine and everything’s so first of all, I’ll say I love glue. It may be my most favorite board game,

Chris 16:02
I think. I think it’s the best board game. I

Kelli 16:04
love clue. I can’t get enough of it. I love the movie. I love the game. I love the book series. And as I was looking at this, I was like you know what, I might reread those because their children’s books from the 90s heavily underrated I might go back and reread those. It’s just fun. It’s just fun for those of us that like a mystery. It’s fun. So it’s a different game every time never gets old. That’s what that’s what I think makes clues so attractive to me is that it just doesn’t get old, constant new mysteries to solve. It doesn’t take long to play or long to learn how to play. And it’s fun for kids and adults alike. Small kids, teens and adults can all have fun playing clue. It’s very accessible to everybody. So there are a lot of Disney versions of Clue all between about 25 and $40 on Amazon, Target, eBay, whatever. So I’m going to give you sort of an overview of the five that I’ve found and they’ll talk about so one that the one that that we played. So you’ve got the Hasbro version this is clue villains. The villains are Ursula guest on Lady Tremaine. Dr. Facilier a mother god awful and Jafar, okay, which is interesting, because those are not the same villains that are in the Disney Parks version. Interesting. Okay, so that’s the Hasbro version. It comes in a big you know, rectangular shaped box. Classic clue situation but with villains. You got the Parker Brothers version, which is clew haunted mansion theme park edition. Now your people trying to solve the murder or the mystery and here are going to be Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto. Okay, plus ghosts from the haunted mansions and rooms from the Haunted

Chris 17:42
Mansion Uranus from the hunted man from the Haunted Mansion in

Kelli 17:45
in the Disney parks. Right. So and your people solving it are really the good guys, right? It’s your Fab Five plus Pluto. So they’re trying to solve the mystery of the Haunted mansions of the Haunted Mansion, or you may end up being the 1,000th Hall. Okay. And the cards in the envelope are a reading from Madame Liotta. Okay, so that’s a cool, that’s cool feature. There’s also a Hasbro version of Clue Finding Nemo, where you’re trying to help find Dory, interestingly enough instead of Nemo. But I get it. He’s the one that gets lost. It’s just like an interesting twist. Well, I

Chris 18:23
think the secret was Finding Dory right?

Kelli 18:25
I think so. This is called Finding Nemo. Okay, finally,

Chris 18:28
we’re looking for Dory.

Kelli 18:29
Then you’ve got a Parker Brothers version. That is clue the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. We own that one as well. This is in a metal container. And then you’ve got your Fab Five Mickey, Minnie Donald Daisy, Goofy, and Pete. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Pete But Pete I’m gonna say is like a dog in the early cartoons. He’s Mickey’s arch nemesis. So he’s this oh yeah, I know Pete Yes. Yes. He a dog dog. Kind of a combination there in

Chris 18:58
we see peaks in in the Mickey minis runaway railway.

Kelli 19:01
Okay, yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay, so that’s Pete So again, this is trying to solve what’s happening in the Tower of Terror. Okay, okay, so that’s that’s different then you’ve got clue The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is the Hot Topic exclusive. And this is who kidnapped Sandy Claus How did they subdue him and where is he hid? Okay,

Chris 19:23
I don’t go into hot topic very often.

Kelli 19:25
I don’t either but they have a lot of Disney exclusive merch and some really cool funko pop stuff so I recommend it. So in any case, tons of different clue options out there I have them all have them all for all I care. But the version that we played was the clue villains Disney park version which was launched in 2020. No longer in the parks as far as I’m aware. And the only place you can get it now is on eBay. Not also sold on on like Disney store.com So the the villains in the version we played. This is the one that looks like a book and a opens like a book. You’ve got Evil Queen Maleficent Ursula Jafar Hadees and Dr. faciliated. Okay. I think those are better villains than guest on and Lady Tremaine. Yeah, I just think I think Maleficent shouldn’t be missing from that list. I think it’s a huge oversight that she was. And I think Hades is a great addition to the like,

Chris 20:21
these are all like magical. Yes.

Kelli 20:25
So the goal is to discover which villain stole which enchanted object and where they hid it. Okay, so you got the six villains, you got six enchanted objects, which are the talisman, the potion, the shell, the Scarab, the scepter, and the poison apple. So it’s each villains, you know, enchanted object that they used in the movies. The premise is, and this is from the box, the villains are up to no good once again, causing mischief and mayhem within their vile realms. A mysterious spill has opened the passages to the Nine Realms once forbidden to the six diabolical villains. And now each wants what the other has, do you dare enter the villains layers in order to retrieve the magical object that was stolen and solve the crime. So it works like traditional clue. You pick a villain and a champion object in a room, put them in a secret envelope in the center of the board, right? Then you hand out the rest of the cards to everybody you roll the die you move around the board proposing who what and where? Sure. Once you figure it out, you say I’ve got it. I’m going to accuse who what and where we played it twice in one hour. Had a lot of fun. Again, probably because it’s my favorite board game. I just love clue. It makes me happy. On the board, it’s listed as three to six players ages eight and up. Now here’s why I think this one version is unique. And again, we’ve got a lot of versions. I don’t want to play with good people. I don’t want to play with Mickey, Minnie Donald Daisy and goofy. Sure, because I grew up on the classic version. And those are all criminals. None of them are innocent and so I don’t want to think about like poor Daisy and that fluffy little tail having committed a crime or trying to solve some crime. I don’t want daisies tail in danger. I love that tail. I don’t want Minnie and Mickey who are just as wholesome as they come to be you know traveling around in some you know haunted mansion type of a situation I want them safe in in a happy blue

Chris 22:34
sky type board. More like candy lane like a Candyland

Kelli 22:37
situation, not a clue situation. So this is why this is unique. Okay, first of all, I’ve mentioned the packaging a couple of times. I don’t think you can say enough about the packaging. Okay, it’s sturdy. It’s unique. And you know, just like we eat with our eyes, we play with our eyes as well. So nice packaging matters. The villains are better villains than the Hasbro version. I just pointed that out. You need Maleficent you need Hades. These are better villains. Sure Dr. faciliated is crazy tall and like as skinny as a toothpick. I just like accusing him. The pieces are sturdy. They’re solid metal. This is not a cheap game. These pieces are I

Chris 23:21
noticed that when I walked by and saw you guys play their heavy.

Kelli 23:25
It’s Disney enough to be lighthearted and villainous enough that teens and parents will enjoy it. It’s also not scary enough to freak out the little ones. Okay, right. It’s a it’s a fun game. But you’re playing it with criminals and they haven’t killed anyone. They’re just trying to steal magical objects. They just stole a magic object and took it into the to their own realm or some other realm. Here’s what I’ll say. We see new board games every time we go to the park. They’re unique. They’re available there. If you want it, buy it. If you want to make money, buy it hold on to a couple years. And so this version right now on eBay is going for just under $100. Wow. We just took ours out of the box two weeks ago. What is your

Chris 24:13
$35.35 bucks and we’re going back maybe we could get it again. In fact, why don’t we buy a few more we go to the parks that you mentioned. It’s

Kelli 24:23
fun. It’s fun y’all. I keep promising it but I am going to do some kind of a board game Disney review. Sure. Eventually because we’ve got so many of them and we love them all. We’d love them all. We’d love it none more than clue. Yes. And let’s just let’s just call that Tomorrowland.

Chris 24:41
Okay, let’s just let’s just call it natural.

Kelli 24:43
Play it tomorrow.

Chris 24:45
We we should play tomorrow. All right, little bit of a turn here. I’m going to talk a little bit about a specific What if episode, okay. Now if you’re not familiar you Disney plus has this marvel themed series called What If, and it follows the watcher. The Watcher is a Marvel character who lives between he watches all of the different universes from the nexus between the universes, okay? And he’s purely a watcher he tries to never get involved. And so we’ve been introduced to the multiverse a few times the last Spider Man movie, we got introduced to the multiverse. Dr. Strange was involved. Dr. Strange has traveled the multiverse in his movie multiverse of madness, where he and Wanda we’re against each other, and lucky. And Loki, right. Yeah, his lot of multiverse stuff there the different timelines, right? Which makes an appearance to the end of this last season of what if I so, so So here’s just some examples, okay. Of what if? What if? The Ravagers, who, who picked up Peter Quill in the 80s, and were supposed to deliver him to ego but they never did in our university? Never did right. He became a Ravager. And who we know is Star Lord. What if he did get sent to ego when he was supposed to and got all those powers and then came back to Earth to find his mom and she was dead? And he went a little bit crazy, right? What would happen? What if? What if Iron Man never came back to Earth after he destroyed the Chitauri base in the end of the first Avengers movie, and instead, movie instead landed on Sokar, where the Game Master was where we saw Thor and Hulk on that crazy planet where they were fighting each other and everything? What if Ironman ended up there? So there’s a whole episode just throwing out these wild ideas? Right? What if hella came to Earth, and learned mercy? Okay, okay, so all kinds of wild ideas. Well, they have released a story and it’s been a few weeks now. It’s been almost two months since this came out. And I have to talk about this. Okay. So the episode is called, What if quixote reshaped the world? I avoided this episode for a little while, because I’m like, I don’t know who cohort he is. Right? Right. So I don’t have any investment in this character spoilers in this section. There are I should I should announce that there are spoilers, yes. We’re going to talk about this whole episode. It’s been two months. And don’t do so pause right now. Go watch episode six of the second season of what if? And then two episodes later, she’s back again. So a couple weekends ago, I decided I’m gonna I’m gonna watch this, right. It’s just entertainment. Anyway, I’m gonna watch this. I was floored, blown away, brought to tears by this episode. And in full disclosure, the subsequent conversation with my daughter about this episode, okay. What they’ve done here is magical. It’s wonderful. So again, we’re in this what if scenario, where we see a version of a different universe than ours, and how things might have been different right now. Kahani is a mohawk Native American, or Canadian? Haka, kind of en haka. Okay. Which is their word for Mohawk Nation. Okay. And this entire episode was created in full 100% cooperation with the members of the Mohawk Tribe, which is amazing. It’s, it’s, it’s so wonderful. And so here’s the setup. What if, during Ragnarok on Asgard, where the Tesseract was, the Tesseract gets flung from the destruction of Asgard and lands in the HUD nashoni confederacy region of North America, or what is now North America. Right. So this is the New England area, where these five nations had created what was known as the HUD and the Shawnee Confederacy, it still exists to this day. Okay, okay. There’s a sixth nation in there now. In any case, the Tesseract lands there and creates what’s called the sky world, in a forest underneath a lake. Okay. And to two cohorts, these people it’s now known as a as a cursed forest, because other Mohawk tribes, men and women had gone into that forest and never returned. Right. Okay. She learns because they now her nation is being attacked by Spanish conquistadores okay. And she and her brother or sister they’re running into the forest, and she falls into the lake and falls through route into the sky world. And there she finds that everything, all the land, the fruits, the animals, everything has been infused with the power of the Tesseract. Okay, which was the Mind Stone, I mean, not the mind, stone can’t remember which stone it was. So she sees all of these people that these Mohawk people that have now they’ve got all these special powers because they have been eating the fruits of this world and, and communing with nature, they’re right. Okay, she manages to harness that power at a level that none of them could ever manage. She figures out how to come back to lead those people back into her universe, her actual world, and then the Spanish find out who they’re messing with. Right? It is such a heartfelt and wonderful look at the culture of these people. The entire episode is subtitled, and they speak their native language the entire episode, we have no transition into English to help us understand better. The entire episode is either Spanish when we’re hearing from the King keystores. Or it’s the native Mohawk language. It is so wonderful. So it’s like, what

Kelli 31:24
if colonization didn’t happen? Exactly.

Chris 31:27
So is that the watcher narrates right. He’s the narrator. And he ends up with this wonderful little monologue where it says when people who have who find out they have powers to make change for good. They rarely stop after the first battle. And so after we’ve already seen them defeat the keys to doors. And in their world, we get a glimpse of Queen Isabella’s court in Spain, who had commissioned these keys to doors, right. And she’s being told by some who made it back that look, the new world is lost. We got to give this up. And she’s like, No, no, no, no. Well, about that time a portal opens up. And here comes co Horti. Right, Dutton. We’re going to go into the source here, right? We’re going to make sure that you don’t try this again, I’ll

Kelli 32:18
mess with this. Right.

Chris 32:19
So in this universe, colonization of the new world never happened. Because the Mohawk people were there to push it back.

Kelli 32:27
I love that so much. It is so sure I get it. So they they win the battle. Yes.

Chris 32:33
And it’s a wonder that animation is next level.

Kelli 32:37
And so then going to see Queen Isabella in Spain is a peace mission. Yes. Not a war mishmash, right? They’re not coming in there guns blazing. She

Chris 32:45
specifically says peace in your world means peace in our world. Right.

Kelli 32:49
Right. And that and that’s, I think the key. Yes. Which is, what if colonization hadn’t happened? What if our country was not founded on the basis of war in genocide? Where would we be right now where we’ll be in a much peaceful country.

Chris 33:04
I also love the effort that Disney is making right now. I mean, some somebody somewhere is gonna call it woke. But whatever. Between this, this was a four year project for the creator of this character.

Kelli 33:16
Amazing. And this character is not in any comic book. This

Chris 33:20
is the first NCU original character this is not come from a comic book. None of that this is an MCU created character news, the first one and only right now. Right? Right. So for me, I love I love this effort to between this and echo all at the same time, you know, giving us all this insight into the civilizations of these people who for so many years in our education, we’re called uncivilized, right, we are seeing the immense civilizations. And I mean, it was known before colonization is the hardness Shawnee Confederacy. These were six Native nations who had created a community together.

Kelli 34:03
I mean, it was called uncivilized just to, you know, justify the genocide but still Sure.

Chris 34:09
Ryan, Ryan little who was the creator of this character revealed that Quixote is a real wolf clan name, meaning she stirs the forest or someone who motivates those around her love. It’s so good. Those shirts in the park seriously. cohorting was one of the characters cited by what if head writer and executive producer AC Bradley, she said, Concordia is one of those heroes in the second season that was written specifically to give herself and others hope during the COVID pandemic, and the rising political tensions around George George Floyd. And then the upcoming 2020 United States presidential election. Wow. That’s fantastic. Yeah, they love how they stay true to the culture. And a couple things here at the end. Cohort it is voiced by Canadian Mohawk action S. Devery Jacobs, she was in Reservoir Dogs, and she also played Bonnie in Echo. Who went Who is she and

Kelli 35:07
res dogs?

Chris 35:07
I don’t know. I don’t.

Kelli 35:10
Res dogs is so good, right? So since right that’s on Hulu, so she’s already part of the

Chris 35:14
Disney dash right? Is the first. So she said that. So she was born and raised in kind of walk a Mohawk Territory. She’s an award winning actor and filmmaker. She plays Barney and echo. And on December 27, the release of this episode she posted to Twitter BBC introducing cohorts the first Mohawk superhero Never did I think that I’d be able to bring a character like this to life. Few roles mean as much to me as this one wow. After spending the past three years working alongside an incredible team, we got to premiere this nearly all Mohawk episode surrounded by family community and first language speakers. There were so many Kenyan K haka in this Mohawk involved in creating this thrilling, inspiring and badass episode. You won’t want to miss it. And then her her compatriot atarax in is also another Mohawk character was played by Jeremy white, he tweeted out the world finally gets to meet Kahani and attracts as a proud Mohawk. This is so fulfilling to bring him to life. It’s so good.

Kelli 36:24
So you’ve watched several of the what if you watched them all? You watch them all so far. So yeah, how would you rank this one?

Chris 36:30
This is my favorite one. And of all of them. It’s my favorite one of all. There’s a bunch of good ones, some a lot of creative storylines, and some and oftentimes they will interweave with each other. Yeah. But this one, I mean, I’m biased for sure. But this one like was like touched me and in a way that the others haven’t. Yeah, the others are super creative and very interesting in the what if thing, but this hits different for me and I absolutely I’m so grateful for it and just love every minute of it.

Kelli 37:05
