Summer House on the Lake – Opened this past week (12/14/23)

Next to Jaleo with great views of Lake Buena Vista, and across from Splitsville, AMC and Salt&Straw

Serving Lunch, Dinner, and Weekend Brunch

Cookie Bar (In-house bakery) – all between $4.95 – $5.45

Brunch is themed Mexican:

Jalapeno corn bread

Prime beef meatballs, truffle fries, and more for appetizers

Signature guacamole (say “yes” to crab)

Mexican Hash browns

Huevos Rancheros

Also, Eggs, short rib hash, waffles, pancakes, salads, veggie options (grilled avocado and wood-grilled artichoke), sandwiches, etc.

Kids – grilled cheese, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, quesadilla, eggs, etc. (all $9.95)

Lunch/Dinner has a Mexican flair, but plenty of Asian influence as well: (truly something for everyone)

Menu is separated into Veggies, Raw & Chilled, Salads, Sandwiches, Tacos, Pasta, Pizza, Summer Comfort

Veggies: caramelized brussels sprouts, shishito peppers, grilled avocado and wood-grilled artichoke ($13.95 – $16.95)

Raw & Chilled: Ahi tuna tostadas, salmon poke nachos, hamachi sashimi, shrimp cocktail. ($18.95 – $19.95)

Salads: House salad, brussels sprouts salad, kale & Cashew, cobb, and Costa Mesa which is queso fresco, corn, pico de gallo, avocado, quinoa, crispy tortilla, chipotle crema, lime vinaigrette ($9.95 – $20.95 + protein)

Sandwiches: crispy chicken, turkey stack and prime cheeseburger ($16.95 – $20.95)

Tacos: grilled tequila-lime chicken, crispy fish tacos, carne asada ($19.95 – $28.95)

Pasta: spaghetti pomodoro, rigatoni alla vodka, angry crab bucatini ($18.95 – $38.95)

Pizza: nothing earth-shattering ($18.95 – $21.95)

Summer Comfort: Chicken breast paillard, fried chicken basket, corn husk salmon, grouper fish ’n’ chips, skirt steak frites, and a filet ($21.95-$52.95)

        • I’m going with Wispering Canyon Café
          • Their skillets are over the top, and all you can eat.
          • Frankly this is place is great anytime because the food is great and the staff antics are so fun.
          • But then you get the added benefit of dining just off the lobby of possibly the most beautifully decorated resort on property.
      • Lunch
        • Liberty Tree Tavern
          • You’re in the park, it’s been a long morning, you’re hungry, and today is Christmas…
          • So step back in time, to the Colonial Age in Liberty Square and enjoy an all you can eat meal that includes:
            • Roasted Turkey, Pot Roast, and Oven-roasted Pork with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, Herb Stuffing, and House-made Macaroni & Cheese.
            • They also have a plant-based meatloaf that is truly incredible
          • Then they have truly beautiful décor and ambiance.
      • Dinner
        • This is going to be less about the specific restaurant, and more about how to spend the evening.
        • You’re gonna go to EPCOT – pick you’re favorite dinner spot… I’m going with Le Cellier at Canada
          • Feel free to grab the classic starters here – Beer Cheese soup or Wedge Salad. Can’t go wrong.
            • But you’d be even more right if you went with the Le Cellier Signature Poutine
          • I then like to enjoy their Filet with mushroom risotto.
          • Desserts are fine here… but wait…
          • Head over the the American Gardens Theater for the beautiful, sure to get you n the holidsay spirit, candlelight processional.
          • Then as you are scoping out a spot to view Luminous, send dad over to the boulaberie/patissirie in France for some:
            • Beignets filled with Chocolate/Hazlenuts
            • Strawberry/Vanilla crème tarts
            • Chocolate Eclairs
            • Crème brulee
            • A slew of macarons
      • Brunch
        • Art Smith’s Homecoming Florida Kitchen (Sat and Sun 9:00 – 1:00)
          • Let’s get a couple of starters:
            • Cheddar Drop Biscuits with either blackberry-fig jam or Sawmill Gravy
            • And just because it’s a law, get the fresh baked mini-glazed donuts topped with pecans and bacon
          • One of these meals:
            • Southern Poutione
              • Crispy tater tots smothered in pulled pork and sawmill gravy. Topped with a fried egg and bacon crumble.
            • Hallelujah Biscuit
              • Open-faced biscuit topped with Chef Art’s famous fried chicken, two over easy eggs, pimento cheese, pecan-smoked bacon and smothered in sawmill gravy. Choice of side item.
            • Sweet tea Shine
