Welcome aboard Disney fam. Welcome aboard in the Disney fam. My name is Chris. And I’m Kelly. Welcome to this week’s episode of The Supercalifragilistic awesome Disney podcast. You’re going with your queen ears? Yes. So we decided to call them yes. We learned the ears. Not UK years Queen ears.
Kelli 0:53
Technically, I think I would call them Her Ladyship ears. Sure. But in any case, yes, they have a tiny crown. And they’re woman empowering, which is what my segments about.
Chris 1:06
Okay, so they’re adjacent.
Kelli 1:07
You’re not adjacent there on on top on top. What they are
Chris 1:12
just like nowhere. We had downloads this week. Can you please carry we had downloads in Muscatine, Iowa. Muscatine, so, yeah, I don’t think it’s Musca time right. Probably not. Right. Probably. Muscatine. Okay, situated on the beautiful banks of the Mississippi River right across the border from Illinois. Okay. I’m sure they’re lovely. They’re all right. Now. Look, I’m going to say the name of this next town. I don’t think it’s right. I don’t know. I don’t know how to pronounce this.
Kelli 1:44
You’re trying.
Chris 1:47
This is I’m gonna call it limits. Lititz, Pennsylvania, because the only other way I know to pronounce it would be le tents. And I don’t think that’s right. That’s right. I’m gonna call it limits. Li t it Z
Kelli 2:02
kind of what it developed it it’s not a French town.
Chris 2:09
It’s no no, it’s not les. It’s not. It’s not late. It’s not it’s not it’s, it’s li ti tz. Really well. This is the heart of Dutch country, nine miles north of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Okay. And it’s the home of the wolf sanctuary of PA and I sort of loved that
Kelli 2:30
website. No, I like that. That’s fun.
Chris 2:32
Yeah. 40 acres of or the wolf happened. Maybe 80 acres of wolf habitat. Okay, for it. Millville Utah 2222 I love the alliteration their population in 2020 they do think that that grew by 78 Since then, though, don’t make me even 2300
Kelli 2:51
Gosh
Chris 2:54
It’s experiencing a population
Kelli 2:56
of 20 320 23 Yeah,
Chris 3:00
that would be awesome. That’s what it is. Okay, and some more people whose town in this case calm you name I’m gonna screw up but I love these people. I’m so happy that they’ve downloaded our podcast. The fine folks in here we go. Ill Kurt’s graph and Stodden I think you really I think I killed it. Almost positive.
Kelli 3:26
Ill Kurt GOP and stuff and you said no, Ill church golf and stuff. He’ll Kirk ill Kirk off and stuff and stuff and stuff. Stan Grof and Staddon. Yes, Ill Kurt Groff and Staaten. Yes,
Chris 3:41
I nailed it to where that will country? I thought
Kelli 3:44
you said Pennsylvania
Chris 3:50
government it’s
Kelli 3:53
there. These folks are in France. Okay, I probably would have gone with Germany. So
Chris 3:58
that’s why stuff and that. Scotland, sodden crops and stuff. And that’s, it sounds very German. But we actually had folks download from Strasburg a few weeks ago, and I thought that was Germany too. But no, these are both places. right on the border between France and Germany. They were probably German for a little while back in the 40s. But nevertheless, right on the border there. Il Kirche Griffin Stodden I think you absolutely nailed Sarpo it says suburb of Strasbourg, actually. Okay,
Kelli 4:29
I think you’ve nailed it. Yeah, you absolutely nailed it.
Chris 4:33
Thanks. I appreciate that support. And thank you all folks for downloading our little shows here. Ready for some
Kelli 4:40
ill church cops and stuff in
Chris 4:44
their town name. They’re very proud of that. So Disney has recommitted to investing billions at Walt Disney World despite the Reedy Creek changes now they did not come out in like a big major statement or anything but they there is a new page on there. On the what Disney Company website that sort of goes into this, and it goes into you know, some people have asked about our commitment to Walt Disney World given the hostile nature of the Florida government towards Disney right now and you know, Bob Iger and just tomorrow, these people that control these kinds of decisions have questioned out loud. If they’re going to be able to turbo charge they used the word turbo charge previously if they’re gonna be able to turbo charge the growth of those parks and experiences given right the state of play in Florida right now and Iger has come right out and asked if the state of Florida doesn’t just doesn’t want them to invest anymore there. However, the this new page on the website does flatly say that they are they are committed to still investing billions of dollars into capacity growth type developments there and expect to add 13,000 new jobs in the next 10 years. So yeah, that’s that’s good. They’ve grown to 75,000 jobs. In the in the local does, that’s just Disney direct. That doesn’t even count all the jobs, right that are created cause of them adjacent. Other hotels and rental cars and all the things right shopping,
Kelli 6:21
etc, right?
Chris 6:22
Hey, at the Magic Kingdom, the Country Bears have started rehearsing. And I love that that’s how this article was titled that the Country Bears have started rehearsing the new show. As
Kelli 6:36
though as though it’s actual
Chris 6:39
goatee, what do you what do you got to say?
Kelli 6:42
No, don’t
Chris 6:42
say no, I’m not. Yeah, let’s have the story has been relayed to the listeners. Now let’s move on. There’s no need to the
Kelli 6:51
payers started rehearsing. I really thought it was going to be down longer and so therefore it
Chris 6:57
will their venue I’m sure is down but they’re out somewhere else rehearsing while we get their venue right. Okay. Obviously good. Okay, we are now oh Stan. I’m excited. Whoo. Tiana is by you adventure has had an official opening season named. It will open up in the summer of this year.
Kelli 7:21
I know but we saw that there were people trying it out. I think they’re gonna do a soft launch before the summer
Chris 7:26
I’m sure that they will. I’m sure we’ll have another one of those things where DVC members can pay 45 bucks to get on on a certain day and all that fun soft
Kelli 7:34
launch. It really is and I hope people they have like guards and stuff protecting the water because people can try to take some that water and sell it on eBay you know.
Chris 7:45
Water from Tiana they have they have been ride testing vehicles I know they have or at least they work for the wild. Now they got scaffolding back up on the outside to do some more work on the exterior.
Kelli 7:55
They were right testing it and it’s absolutely going to have a soft launch before summer but whatever we can get with that date. Sure.
Chris 8:02
topiaries are popping up all over the place in Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. We’re gonna be there for that. I’m so excited. There’s a new little construction area that has popped up over near the imagination pavilion figment is and the rumor is that that’s going to make room for more festival kiosks in that area interesting which is like what world nature or something like that over in that area? I think not really sure.
Kelli 8:30
Yeah, they’ve been trying to spread the festivals out into the other side of the park for quite
Chris 8:34
which with with all the work they’ve been doing over there, it’ll lend itself to that. Yeah,
Kelli 8:38
I mean, I don’t think I’ve bought into that quite yet but I mean, I appreciate them trying to spread the crowd
Chris 8:43
the more chaos the better for it, apparently at the Soren has been doing soaring over California I think I must have missed that or it I just didn’t lock that in but that but it ends February 27 And it goes back to soar and around the world. Okay, which I prefer frankly.
Kelli 9:00
I mean California does have those the nice orange groves they
Chris 9:03
do have those nice orange groves that do not have the elephant poo smell
Kelli 9:07
right which I think is interesting that California has the orange groves and you’re smelling it in Florida which is known for their oranges.
Chris 9:13
Well it’s not Yeah, I guess but you know how it is. Other states probably produce more oranges that Florida does. Although the orange bird really orange bird is right now they’ve got a whole bird got a whole bird.
Kelli 9:26
The whole bird
Chris 9:30
you know, we’ve been talking about like other like side gigs and stuff. And Disney has begun casting performers and puppeteers for the new Little Mermaid show at Hollywood Studios.
Kelli 9:43
Something that’s a side gig for you or me
Chris 9:46
both of us. The way you say a little mermaid
Kelli 9:48
you think I would be Ariel my hair obviously. And
Chris 9:52
send your voice obviously.
Kelli 9:57
The hair and the voice obviously I’ll be Ariel. So How would you be like, Max?
Chris 10:02
I could I hadn’t thought about that. But yes, I would play Max. That’d be great. I’d be great at max Arcilla. Oh, I look good as you’re seeing that victory. I look good as I can tell it’s pull that off. Maybe that would be a fall job. So yeah. All right. So keep that in the back here.
Kelli 10:22
I don’t think you’d be Eric. Eric doesn’t have enough speaking lines. You’re, you’re you’re better than
Chris 10:27
that’s really nice way of saying you don’t have to prance on. No,
Kelli 10:31
no, no, you’re my prints you come across much better as Ursula, you deserve a good monologue and a strong vocal.
Chris 10:37
Okay, well, I think that’s our slogan. Okay. Get stuck in gender norms. Um, so this is really, really cool. The new baby Okapi at Animal Kingdom has a name now. Okay. They named Elijah. Oh, named after a cast member who has been with Disney for 50 years. Oh, how awesome is that? This is the announcement. cast member Elijah first joined the Magic Kingdom in June of 1973 goodness and transferred to the Horticulture Department at Disney’s Animal Kingdom when it opened in 1998. So he’d already been there for 25 years when Animal Kingdom opened. Gosh. He plays a critical role in maintaining the animal habitats at Disney’s Animal Kingdom from the rhinos to a copy and everything in between. Because he is such a beloved cast member we named this newest baby okay, piatra him in that great that is so sweet really is awesome. And I saw a picture of him you know putting out with well he wasn’t with the academy specifically, but it was but it was cast member Elijah putting out straw and stuff for the I thought that was great.
Kelli 11:51
That’s really sweet.
Chris 11:52
Do you remember we talked recently about baby Cora the new baby elephant? Core his debut is now you can go see Cora now in the habitat. The others. Oh my goodness. Here’s Ella LJ Cortez debut marks historic first as she is the first second generation calf at Animal Kingdom. Cora’s mother and Madeira was also born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom back in 2005. Cora is the first calf born at Animal Kingdom in seven years however, two more on the way
Kelli 12:31
she’s gonna get what cousin?
Chris 12:33
Probably no, he’s hanging out with her aunts and uncles or aunts and her grandmother her grandma’s name is Donna. Oh, that’s I love that her name is Dr. Answer name like Stella and Donna’s Yeah, Mack his dad. He’s also still there too. Okay, I bet I bet the two babies boy more next year my head sounds do
Kelli 12:57
y’all think he’s monogamous?
Chris 12:58
I don’t think so.
Kelli 12:59
But I don’t know that strike me as the type that would be there.
Chris 13:03
I know that their herds are very matriarchal. Yeah, yeah,
Kelli 13:06
elephants strike me as the type that would be, you know, monogamous. I don’t know if it’s a matriarchal herd, then I don’t think they’re gonna allow their men to just go off and make babies with their herd. I
Chris 13:17
think they will. I don’t think Max doing all the work at the at the park is what I think you think there’s like all the pressures on Mac here. Now. There’s other boys. I think there’s probably the boys. Did Disneyland forward has had an a public hearing tomorrow if anybody wants to go and ask about it. Yeah, in Anaheim, the notice says that the meeting is quote, an opportunity for the community to learn about the project, including the first amended and restated development agreement and provide comments to the planning commission. Okay. Let’s see here. Did we talk on the show last week about the Pixar place I know you and I talked about it. We did. We definitely had. Because I wanted to really, I think this
Kelli 14:03
would be a great time for you to talk about the drone show at Disneyland Paris. Because you say that are we constantly chatting it up. You never have time to get to that get to it.
Chris 14:13
Okay, can we say you’re really starting really hard turn here because you went into that little rant, but we did not speak about Carl Weathers passing away. And that happened a couple of weeks ago. He was 76. He of course played Apollo Creed. But he was also Greef Karga in the Mandalorian. And recipes Carl Weathers amazing person.
Kelli 14:38
You said that and I immediately thought it Carl like Carl and Ellie. That Carl talk about the drone show
Chris 14:46
the drone show at Paris Disneyland Paris is awesome and amazing. And it is it is effectively the Main Street Electrical Parade in the sky. They’ve got this pirate ship I
Kelli 15:00
can’t see his face. I can see his face and I just need to tell you very much Kotori they’ve got a you know, the pirate ship is not the key part of that drone show. What is it’s the Main Street Electrical Parade. Nobody goes to the Main Street Electrical Parade for a pirate ship.
Chris 15:19
What do they do?
Kelli 15:20
They go for the dragon with smoke. They go for the turtles that spin. Yeah, they go for the music. The big drums.
Chris 15:31
What’s the name of that song called? I don’t know, baroque hoedown. And they did actually bring it back for this drone show. They did. I know that a revamped version of the code and
Kelli 15:41
like this is supposedly your most favorite parade ever. You have all these nostalgic memories, like so many of this parade that actually bought you like an original vinyl album. You did have this music, right? It’s
Chris 15:54
shocking that you don’t know the name of the song. Well, and
Kelli 15:56
then this comes out. It’s going to be a massive drone show where they’re going to have the music and recreate this in the sky. And you’re like, there’s this pirate ship. Because the pirate ship is cool. Nobody cares about the pirate ship.
Chris 16:12
They will it’ll be the new you don’t either. It’ll be the new pizza dragon. No, no, no.
Kelli 16:19
You are in love with the Main Street Electrical Parade and you have not brought that up in a new set when
Chris 16:24
it comes back down to the ground and is riding around on Main Street. Then I’m going to talk about it like fancy
Kelli 16:29
That’s crap. If it comes to Walt Disney World you would pee your pants to get there and watch it you know you would or Disney land you peed your pants to get there and watch it.
Chris 16:40
You know you would look at people’s faces.
Kelli 16:43
Be In My Kotori habit Eve of Women’s History Month.
Chris 16:56
So I’m talking about Tomorrowland. And I’m actually going to be talking about a Tomorrowland type topic unlike what also a smartass comment.
Kelli 17:05
Yeah, it’s fine. What? It’s fine. I can handle it.
Chris 17:10
Oh, have you ever taken a Disney park private VIP tour at the parks? I
Kelli 17:17
have it because I’m not rich.
Chris 17:19
We we’ve talked before about like the backstage tour. Yeah. And I’ve always been like, I want to do the backstage tour. I know that it’s not all actual magic, but I don’t want to I don’t want to kill themselves magic. Right. So I mean, I’m only goes almost 50 years old. So but they have these private VIP tours that are designed to let folks with a lot more money than us have like the super super efficient days where you are given a guide a plaid, as I’m told one of the articles that they’re called a plaid so we’ll see plaids all over the place. They wear plaid vests, oh,
Kelli 18:01
they’re special. They got a plaid vest, okay, and
Chris 18:03
you can get you can pretty much bet that they are the most expert people you’re
Kelli 18:08
gonna miss out but they pass a lot of quizzes and tests. And
Chris 18:11
they’re not all just VIP tours. Sometimes they’re working behind the desk and one of the you know, resorts or
Kelli 18:16
whatever it got the plaid vest your plaid, your plant will get you a plant for that. So I’m
Chris 18:20
going to be calling them the plants from now on. Okay, so here’s how, by the way, thanks to the Disney Disney World website voters.com. They’re the travel people they put out all the like photos, travel guides, and the points guy who I know we like a lot. Absolutely. For all the information here. The Disney site describes it like this. The team at Disney VIP tour services will plan the most efficient and enjoyable way for groups of up to 10 guests to see and do the things on their list of most wanted things to do. Just tell your personal VIP tour guide what you’d like to see and they’ll customize your your day for you. After being picked up in a private vehicle from your Walt Disney World Resort, or branded partner combination. Enjoy unparalleled hospitality and experience some of your favorite attractions alongside a VIP tour guide. Some of the personalized services include pre arrival planning, a flexible start time picked by you visits to multiple theme parks in one day if you want the ability to enjoy some of your favorite attractions efficiently through most lightening Lane entrances and shared insight from your highly knowledgeable VIP tour guide. We’ll go ahead and hit the painful pace right up here. Our prices at Walt Disney World range from 450 to $900 per hour depending on the season, and it does not include park tickets. That was my question I knew it would be does not include park tickets and I saw other places that a minimum of seven hours is required. But it did not see that on the Disney site? Wow. So it’s also available at Disney land prices ranging from 500 to $700 per hour, still up to 10 guests and a minimum of seven hours there.
Kelli 20:12
I mean, frankly, if I’m rich, that’s nothing. It is nothing. Also, if I’m a celebrity or something, if I would totally do it that way, if
Chris 20:21
I were going with, say, 10 people who were equally able to pay their split, right, so 100 bucks, three or $400, for what you’re gonna get here is pretty good. Honestly, when you consider what you will pay for extra lightning laying or virtual cue to get onto rice. I
Kelli 20:43
wonder if I bet they do. I bet they have plaids that speak multiple language,
Chris 20:47
they definitely do theirs on their website, they they tell you to when you’re booking your your trip your plan to let them know if you need other languages spoken. And though they’ll work that out among the VIP. Yeah, tour guides.
Kelli 21:00
That’d be nice.
Chris 21:02
For sure. Paris also has this. It’s like a six hour tour. And I saw that there’s something in Disneyland Tokyo, but it’s not quite this kind of like this. So the points guy.com actually did this. By the way, if you Google, is this worth it? I feel like Disney put out a like a media blitz course they did that said hey, here are the talking points. And if you want to come do this, we’ll show you around so that you’ll write an article that says it’s worth it. And here’s why. Right, because I literally couldn’t find an article that said it wasn’t worth it.
Kelli 21:40
Right. And they all had the same talking points. I didn’t read
Chris 21:43
all of them. But yeah, a lot is very similar stuff. However, the points guy I went with because a I think it’s fairly reputable. And he actually I’m saying he but actually listed out exactly what they did to the minute. Okay of their day. That’s helpful. Yeah. Right. And so we’re going to talk about that, okay. So he says, it’s not just the quick access to the attractions, that is the selling point. The guides are, you know, Johnny on the spot with things like water and ponchos and sure, you know, Mickey bars and all that kind of stuff. It did rain on their day. And so that ended up being very helpful. The guides can either ride rides with you, and he says, that’s really cool, because they give you secrets that maybe you didn’t know. But also, if they’ve like, sort of got this list of everybody seems to be thirsty here, but I want some water. I’m gonna hold off while you guys are riding, I’m gonna go get some waters and bring those back to you. Whenever you get off. That’s nice. Yeah, yeah. So they had signed up for seven hours. But they ended up going about eight and a half for various reasons, which will sort of hit on. And but also, they just wanted to make sure they saw everything that they wanted to see. He says that some of their time on the front end was eaten up because like one of the kids lost a magic band. And so they wasted some time finding a magic band. They also had to fill out some paperwork. He said we could have filled out that paperwork early and not have to eat up anytime you’re spending, say $500 an hour, you don’t want to lose any time. Right? All right. So they said counting transportation to and from the resort and the transfer between two parks. They did. They did the Magic Kingdom and they did Hollywood Studios. In one day. They spent a little over an hour in transit. So they actually had about set little under seven hours of true park experience that translated into 16 attractions over two parks. Wow, that’s nice, right? Yeah, in eight and a half hours, right. So already, that’s not something you can do.
Kelli 23:49
You can’t right No, normally
Chris 23:53
said that. VIP tour guide got waters and they and pixie dusted his youngest with a Dole Whip because the very first attraction they wanted to ride was pirates. And it was down most of the day. But they would have walked right on. It’s funny when we when we see what they did. And in the order they did it you can totally see like where how they went through the park did mention that lunchtime was fairly inefficient. They’re not giving you lunch lunch you do like you would do on a normal day.
Kelli 24:21
Like except sort of like as you’re walking or sit and eat or
Chris 24:25
eat. And so they mobile ordered and so you know how mobile ordering works. I tell you about what time your meal will be ready. And so you’re still trying to find a place to sit and all this stuff and you end up spending an hour there where you’re paying a guide and you’re not really doing anything, right. So just keep that in mind. So here is how their day went. Their tour officially began at 10am at Wilderness Lodge. And that’s when they were like oh we can’t find the magic band. We got to fill out some paperwork say last 15 to 20 minutes there. But by I 1049 They were ready to ride their first ride. So they started at 10 They got to Magic Kingdom, they had found that they couldn’t ride pirates. And so they went to their next thing. And so at 1049 They rode their first ride between 1049 and 142. Okay, okay, three hours roughly. They wrote Aladdin magic carpets Splash Mountain Big Thunder haunted mansion. Peter. Pan’s Flight. Oh, wow. Yeah, exactly. The main Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Mad Tea Party seven doors, mine train and Space Mountain. Okay. Right. That was in three hours. So that’s pretty solid, and efficient. At 217 They left in their private transport for Hollywood Studios. And they parked right behind the Tower of Terror. And best The other thing here is you you park backstage? Right? And so you got real quick. Yes, exactly. From 256 to 544, again, less than three hours, they road Tower of Terror rock and roller coaster, runaway railway rise, Smugglers Run Slinky Dog and Toy Story mania. And they were back at Wilderness Lodge at 630. Wow. Eight and a half hour, almost eight and a half hours.
Kelli 26:15
That was their day. So it’s mostly attractions, it’s mostly
Chris 26:20
to help you get on the attractions in a in an efficient manner. They paid a grand total of $4,675 or $467 per person that equated to about like 29 bucks per attraction. Purpose.
Kelli 26:41
Okay,
Chris 26:43
so yeah, it was it’s expensive, it is expensive. And then they also say plan for 15 to 20% Tip. It’s one of the few Disney cast member jobs where you can actually give them a cash tip. You know, and that’s pretty good. I mean, for them, it’s basically equivalent to an hour. One last little thing here. The throughout the tour, our group was given about 25 bottles of water at 350 each 10 Nikki bars, so one each for them. 10, rain ponchos one stroller rental, and a cup of dough whip. If it was any other day, they would have spent $402 on that stuff. So that was all free. That was all that all came with it. So that’s interesting. VIP tours, if you if you do not have much time in the parks, and you got money, then you want to hit as much as you possibly can and you got some money to spend. It’s absolutely worth it. Sure they can they’ve had people get for parks.
Kelli 27:41
So I am World Showcase. And I’m I’m putting that in quotes, okay, because I have celebrated Women’s History Month before for sure. Her story. So March March, this is on the website for Disney March marks the start of women’s history month and we’re celebrating her story with a lineup of delicious items all across Walt Disney World Resort. Our talented teams of chefs and mixologist have put their passions to the plate, and masterfully created some truly spectacular items for you to enjoy. As you honor the women in your life.
Chris 28:18
I think that’s worthy. So I like it. I
Kelli 28:21
like where they’re going with that. Now, I’m not going to go through all of these because there’s just too many. And we don’t have time, which says something in and of itself. It does. And so I’m just going to hit the ones that I found to be particularly interesting or that look really yummy. Most of them will be available while we’re there. So I’m excited to try some of these in March. So we’re going to start at Epcot at Epcot, we’re going to Sunshine seasons, where we will have the most Juana milkshake.
Chris 28:48
Don’t sleep on sunshine seasons. Yeah, sure.
Kelli 28:52
This is an orange cream milkshake. With whipped cream, seashells, pearls, and Mo Juana coin, non alcoholic beverage. Sticking with the orange theme, at tangerine cafe, we have the orange blossom tafro Saffron cake. Okay. That’s good. It looks amazing. And it was inspired by a pastry sous chef and her love of memories assisting her grandmother in the kitchen. So that’s that was that sort of her thing orange blossom saffron Kate looks amazing. It sounds amazing. Now we’re gonna pop over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom park where I will just say honestly, I think I’m just going to eat there. This time. I don’t know that I really need to do anything other than eat at Animal Kingdom. Lounge and eat is what I’m really feeling. And so I can just hit all of this. I’ve got it all we
Chris 29:45
got that skill set.
Kelli 29:46
So at first you’re at creature comforts. There is where they have the feathered friends moose dome. Now. Come on. I
Chris 29:54
love a moose. No, I
Kelli 29:55
love a moose. This is a lavender white chocolate mousse. An RA blossom cake, a chocolate coating chocolate flakes, white chocolate feathers and buttercream. Now these white chocolate feathers are all different colors. It’s really It’s beautiful. It’s absolutely beautiful. It’s new and I need it. Okay. This was inspired by another pastry assistant sous chef, who loves seeing the colorful McCall’s at Discovery Island each day so the feathers look like the McCall’s love that yes, she says working for Disney is a daily adventure filled with the joy of crafting desserts that delight and bring smiles to hundreds of guests. So I like that. Then they have over at Nomad lounge, the tequila and pineapple cocktail. This has Casa dragones Blanco tequila pineapple juice to patch a syrup and St. Elizabeth all spice Dramm This is new. Fun fact castle. dragones tequila is a woman founded and led business and that’s the foundation for this drink. There is also the ginger whiskey with notes of ginger and brown sugar. This cocktail feature features uncle nearest 1856 Whiskey, which is a black and woman owned and operated net great awesome we need to have those things. Over at Tiffany’s they have the white chocolate orange cream brew lay with a blueberry cardamom curd Amarula ice cream, orange chutney and a C low cookie. And Roz I’ll hand out candy crunch. I mean that that is that’s insane. The cast member who made this it is an inspiration of her sister Kiersten who Bridgette credits with guiding her through various professional education and personal milestones and achieve you just
Chris 31:47
get there’s a meeting some point where they get the chef’s together and they say look, who hell who inspires you come up with something? The
Kelli 31:55
women chefs together Yeah, sure. These are women chefs. Okay, Magic Kingdom, Golden Oak outpost, Tiana’s famous been yeas, then yay, Is it magic kingdom we need these light sweet and fluffy bunnies with strawberry dipping sauce. at Main Street bakery. We have the mini mousse cupcake. This is a chocolate chip cupcake with cheesecake filling top with chocolate buttercream chocolate ears and a chocolate bow. The butter cream that it’s talking on on top is actually read with white polka dots. I don’t even know how they did that. Like the boat actually gets lost in it. It’s it’s beautiful.
Chris 32:33
I like the idea of a chocolate chip cupcake with cream cheese filling. Yeah,
Kelli 32:37
I knew you would. They also have Tiana’s Chantilly cake and you know I love Chantilly This is a vanilla chiffon cake with lemon Chantilly and fresh strawberries topped with a fondant flour and a Tiana chocolate piece. That’s it another place as well. Sleepy Hollow has a madam liotta cupcake. This is a Chocolate Cherry cupcake filled with blackberry cream topped with cherry buttercream at a madam liotta chocolate pace. Sleepy Hollow is a dark horse all the time, but I need the madam liotta cupcake. I’m just over at Hollywood studios at the dark side diner. We’ve got the princess of Aldrin shake. Now this is what you’re going to see on all of the instance everywhere. Okay, this is a salted caramel shake, topped with whipped cream, edible glitter and many cinnamon rolls. So this looks like what you would think it looks like the mini cinnamon rolls are attached to the side of the shake. So it looks like her her buttons we’ll get into later and you can explain to me why this isn’t Princess Leia shake. We’ll get into that at a later date.
Chris 33:47
We can we can talk about it. At Fairfax fair.
Kelli 33:50
They have bells cup of enchantment. This is a cranberry and passion fruit orange Guava Juice topped with a yellow shimmer and strawberry boba pearls non alcoholic beverage berries I need literary and pretty at Hollywood scoops This is a dorable okay, they have the mini kitchen sink Sunday so it’s a kitchen sink but it has like a skirt going around it with this many so
Chris 34:18
many like smaller than the kitchen sink yeah whoever this is your choice
Kelli 34:22
of hand scooped ice cream top with red vanilla whipped cream chocolate syrup white polka dot sprinkles, Cookie ears and a chocolate though. Over at Disney Springs you know you’re gonna want to go to Emirates patisserie she’s got a Mardi Gras petite cake with layers of vanilla chiffon, cinnamon cream cheese mousse, Bourbon caramel mousse and assaulted prevailing crunch. The sous chef here comes from Louisiana. And this is a special nod to what she loves most about what she enjoyed as a child. The cake is hopped with an image of Tiana and Charlotte to honor the close female friendships that the sous chef had throughout her childhood. So nice isn’t that sweet fronteira Cosina has a freedom Margarita, which is obviously named after Frida Kahlo. And this also has that castle dragonflies Blanco tequila. This has a rose petal, the core lemon juice and pomegranate cordial serve with a rose petal popcorn salt rim. I can’t even I can’t even so this is named after Frida Kahlo. It honors her. She’s a prominent figure in art history. If you’re not familiar with free to Google her. She’s amazing. That tequila that they’re using is founded by a woman she’s known for being the first woman to be certified as a, my estra to kill a Ria, or master Securio. And so she has played a significant role in promoting Mexican tequila on a global stage. So what I love is that all of these desserts sort of have a call back to a woman in their lives or whatever. Yes, for sure. And a lot of the all star movies are the All Star resorts you can get honey, this one’s for you. And banana pudding cheesecake. Yeah, this is a banana cheesecake with vanilla pudding and a vanilla wafer crust. This is inspired by a sous chef Janelle, who drew the inspiration from her Jamaican roots in her time living in the US where she developed a fondness for banana pudding. She took these classic dessert flavors and infuse them into a special cheesecake topped with a Mickey garnish a special nod to her dream of working for Disney coming true.
Chris 36:43
Oh my goodness. So down to my grandma’s house a lot at Saratoga
Kelli 36:46
Springs. At the artists palette. You can get a cauliflower bisque. A beef bog in yo o or a traditional pancake or you know what hashtag get all three. The first two are new, the beef bourguignon and the cauliflower bisque are new. And so that cauliflower bisque, creamy cauliflower Karissa, and a roasted pistachio gremolata. Great sounds inspired by what the sous chef Lauren learned from her mother and you get the creamy, spicy, slightly spicy flavor from the Marisa and this best pistachio gremolata gifts, texture and freshness and freshness. Very difficult, reminiscent of dipping homemade garlic bread
Chris 37:32
into There you go. That sounds good.
Kelli 37:35
The booth Borgen Yan is inspired again by sous chef Lauren’s grandmother, it’s her tribute to granny showed me how you can make simple ingredients and create something delicious that feels like home, even if it isn’t something you might have had as a child. The traditional pancake is just your typical homemade vanilla pancake, inspired by the proprietor Deborah’s family recipe which has been passed down from generation to generation. I
Chris 38:03
love that I do have a question about her pancake. Does she soak it in some sort of a moonshine?
Kelli 38:09
Didn’t say So here’s something I would also like to point out is that a lot of the chefs that are putting these things together are sous chefs. And so it does appear that all of the women in the park that were asked to participate in this activity are at the sous chef level, not at the chef level. And so here’s what I would like to say Disney is I appreciate you bringing the sous chefs into this. I love hearing their stories. What have you. I would like to see more of the sous chefs promoted to actual chef’s by the 2025 her story, her story events so that we know that they’re not just subordinates in your organization. Okay, down with the patriarchy ashtag she persisted.
