Episode Transcript:

Chris 0:28
Welcome aboard Disney fam. Welcome aboard indeed Disney fan. We are so happy to have you join the show again this week. My name is Chris and I’m Kelly. And Kelly is all Pauline out with her ears this week. And

Kelli 0:46
these are enjoy these ears because they don’t have Bose. So these are black sequined ears but with a soft headband. So that’s the problem with sequins is when they get behind your ears they itch. So not having sequins on the band itself is a big deal. So these are black sequined ears with lovely hibiscus flowers. You can only get these at Poly or at Aulani where’d

Chris 1:11
you get yours?

Kelli 1:11
I got mine at Poly.

Chris 1:12
Nice. Awesome. Seems like that might be foreshadowing it is foreshadowing Nice. So this week, we had some new cities. I always like to look at that downloaded the Shep White Lake Michigan to Detroit Serb suburb, if you are in White Lake and you downloaded last week and listen, we are so appreciative as we are of whoever it was in Oberlin, Ohio. Oberlin

Kelli 1:39
Oberlin that sounds very like German German

Chris 1:43
then. So southeast of Cleveland, home of Oberlin College, Cleveland, Cleveland. If you know, you know, and the lovely the beautiful San Jose, California. Oh, sweet. Okay, Nigeria heart of Silicon Valley. That’s a really wonderful area. Very nice. And Leone France, Sue? Yes.

Kelli 2:07
Is that where pot today is from that?

Chris 2:10
Don’t think so. I think that goes together at all. Pot pots. This is the Rhone region of France, Central East of France, sort of southwest of Geneva, Switzerland. I think Cote de Rome comes from this area. Maybe. But you’ll take Ponce de almost 100% sure that he is has nothing to do with the French.

Kelli 2:34
Okay, whatever.

Chris 2:38
Oh, so you ready for mainstream? Read it all over your face. Hey, so we probably got caught up on hot guy. What do you think?

Kelli 2:45
I love that show. I mean, I do think some of the people on Twitter are sort of overselling it a bit where they’re like this is the best show in the history of all the Marvel franchise shows episode number three. I was like that really oversold episode three. I loved it, but I like it. It’s it really humanizes him and I enjoy that. Yeah, I love it. I love because he does seem very, you know, Driel. Yeah. But he seems very, like machinist in the he doesn’t really have like a personality or anything like that. In the movies.

Chris 3:21
I beg to differ. But, but yeah, they I love the little plot point of him having, you know, a hearing aid. He’s hard of hearing because of things and he’s got, you know, he’s got some bad trauma.

Kelli 3:34
Yeah, he got basic kids and a wife. Yeah, yeah. And he’s just

Chris 3:37
trying to get home for Christmas, man. I love it. I really, I really like it. Um, so this week, we learned that Susan Arnold will be taking over as chairman of the board after Bob Iger steps down at the end of this month. So she’s been a board member for Disney since 2007. Bob Iger has been in a senior leadership role at Disney since 1996. Gosh, man, I know and he was actually like the president of ABC Entertainment even before that, so I started doing some math on his age man, I am really not doing well. Career wise this Joker was like leaving all of ABC when he was 40.

Kelli 4:18
You’re not doing well, that was

Chris 4:20
really, it’s hard to compare myself to Bob Iger. Don’t

Kelli 4:22
compare ourselves to Volga Bob Iger. I think he just took a different path. Yeah,

Chris 4:26
he started out repairing TVs for ABC in the 70s.

Kelli 4:32
really excelled as a TV repairman.

Chris 4:35
He really did. Following Walt Disney Imagineering moved to Florida or in conjunction with that, I guess, Barbara Bouza I don’t know if I’m pronouncing your name right, Barb? Sorry. has been a new president of Walt Disney Imagineering. Okay, yeah, create a bar. Yep. The previous president Bob Weiss will step into a new role that will keep him in California. In my view, sort of a bad look, because there’s a there’s some Imagineers that weren’t able to keep their jobs because they couldn’t pick up and move to Florida. Right and clearly he didn’t want to and then I don’t know I don’t know if he didn’t want to but it seems a little bit too you know, convenient that they found a job for the president of Imagineering when they couldn’t find job for any Imagineers that couldn’t move. What do we know that for a fact no, we don’t just in my view is just not a great look. But you know, not that they should have fired Bob Weiss or anything, right. Orange County, California and in December 3 Walt Disney World Day. I don’t know what they get with that but that’s nice. Probably just a plaque on the wall

Kelli 5:43
like Orange County, California, Orange County, Florida,

Chris 5:45
Orange County, Florida. This past week, the rock and roller coaster shut down and evacuated on December the first concerns of a possible fire there was some smoke you know, gosh, yeah, but it turned out it was fine and reopened a few hours later. Okay. Disney Land it’s a small world is expected to reopen this week following a flood a few weeks ago. So a maintenance a small world flood in California. Oh gosh. Well, like an electronics maintenance basement area where there were some maintenance equipment down there flooded it was all full of electrical you know, systems and equipment. Disney reached out to other Disney parks to see if they had like spare parks that they could use to repair this thing gosh yeah. Because you know supply chain issues that we’re all dealing with and everything right? While Disney World Paris Hong Kong and Tokyo all supported the effort overnighting parks Disneyland as a result they were able to get the repairs done and get the thing back up in like three weeks as opposed to multiple months and they were gonna Oh, that’s all so pretty cool story came Disney. That’s right. That’s right. Mobile Checkout is finally coming to all four Walt Disney World parks I think they just introduced it to the Emporium they relaunched at the Emporium this past week. But it’s coming to all the parks we’ve used

Kelli 7:10
that before. And it really when it when there are lines. It’s really good. It’s really

Chris 7:14
nice. Yep. The Walt Disney World parking lot to trams are coming bags all that everybody’s so excited. Oh, excited back, you know, and they’re not coming back to all four like immediately they’re coming to the Magic Kingdom this month. And then throughout 2022 There’ll be reintroduced to the other three parks. Boat rights, dining hall and storybook dining at artists point return this month but rights will open up on December the 14th storybook dining on December the 16th We’re trying to get reservations controlling storybook it’s just not working they the announcement said that you could get RESERVATIONS STARTING on December the second but we haven’t managed to do that yet. It’s just doesn’t seem to be working on the website. I

Kelli 8:01
think tomorrow you need to call 40242 Ww Dan. Or for seven days I don’t know what if all were in the 402 right now aren’t we? Okay, so 407 WW, Dan. All right. Whatever it is call it

Chris 8:18
the jingle bell jam nighttime show at Hollywood Studios is officially not returning for 2021 they had originally said that it was going to but it’s not they are still running the normal nighttime show at Hollywood Studios though throughout December there’s there’s a nighttime firework show and projections on theater the

Kelli 8:38
Chinese Theater Yeah, yeah. So they are the Jingle Jam that

Chris 8:42
there was the same thing they just replaced it with a different you know, sort of nighttime show for the holidays. That’s not coming back but they are continuing with the regular nighttime show there. Okay. The Nutcracker Tiki mug is now available at Trader Sam’s grog grotto

Kelli 9:02
where they better have some good souvenir cups. When we get there in January. It will be like What do you got Sam? Love me a good souvenir mug.

Chris 9:10
You really do. They also launched a new drink there the Molly miliki Muy Thai

Kelli 9:17
Molly or Mellie

Chris 9:18
Molly Malay, Malay, Malay Maliki Mata

Kelli 9:22
le miliki Muy Thai okay.

Chris 9:23
Yeah. So looking forward to that hope it’s hoped all that still there on January 2, please be magic kingdom. This is cool. Magic Kingdom has added a second for 30 early closing day to the 2022 calendar. Okay. So usually once a year, they closed the Magic Kingdom at 430. Very early. Yeah. And then they the park is open to just the cast members for the rest of the night. And they do cast member awards night that It’s fun. Yeah. So they weren’t able to do that for 2020. Okay. awards or Yeah, for 2019 I guess. So they’re doing one closing early in January, January 25 for 2021 awards, and they’re gonna close on February the eighth at 430. To do the 2020. Awards. That’s cool. Yeah. So that’s really neat. Splash Mountain is closing on January 10. For reverb, but this is not related to the proposed princess. Tiana

Kelli 10:33
refurb. Right.

Chris 10:34
Right. So cool. Kali river rapids, was supposed to open on December the 16th. But it’s been quietly they haven’t said anything about this. But it’s been quietly pushed back to 2020. At some point. Yeah, I don’t know what’s going on with those Kali river rapids. Okay. So last thing I sort of got here is the genie plus is the new app, right as part of the My Disney Experience app is supposed to or Genie is supposed to sort of help you plan your day based on the things that you tell it you like, Genie plus, allows you to try to line up lightning lanes for your favorite ride. Right? Okay, right. There’s a there’s a, there’s a phenomenon called stacking. That I think maybe a whole bonus episode might be worthy. But it follows this 120 minute roll. But the idea is, especially at Hollywood studios, it works very well, where you can like back and back, load your day with ride after ride after ride after ride after ride at the end of the day. Okay, right and in you spend like the first half of your day doing whatever you want to do you like hanging out at the hotel, some people literally will spin their day by the pool. And starting around four o’clock, they will have stacked up a whole slew of attractions at whatever Park they’re going to and then they hit the park. And they wait, you know, five minutes for every attraction that they want to drive for the most interesting. Okay. Yeah, so maybe a bonus pot or something on that. bit more

Kelli 12:19
about it. Yeah, absolutely. That sounds interesting. Yes. Pretty interesting.

Chris 12:23
So yeah, so that’s it for the news. This week. We are still looking for voicemails.

Kelli 12:30
We are still looking for voicemails. So what Disney animal would you be and why?

Chris 12:37
Pretty soon we’re just gonna do our bonus pod and just push forward.

Kelli 12:44
I know. I know. But I would love to hear more. Yeah. So what animal would you be and why?

Chris 12:50
Go to the website click on the voicemail. Yes,

Kelli 12:53
yes, yes.

Chris 12:53
We got to Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland. So excited about our very tucked in. Very, very tucked in heavy today. My is for Tomorrowland, the top 10 Holiday snacks for 2021 that I have never tried but desperately wanted. And now these are not any that I’ve already covered. These are none that you’ve already covered. And this is by no means everything that’s available

Kelli 13:20
right now. It’s there’s a slew there’s this holiday snacking opportunity

Chris 13:24
seriously. And so these are just I’ve looked through all of them. These are the 10 that I would be most interested in trying Okay. Starting at Magic Kingdom. The Christmas cookie sundae at Auntie gravity’s collected goodies Now, here’s the thing about me is that I love a trick just a traditional ice cream sundae with the ice cream hot fudge and whipped cream man, basic. So basic, so basic. And did state goes back to my grandmother taking me and I don’t believe I’ve ever had a meal at Disney when she told me that it didn’t end with a hot fudge sundae. But whatever. I’m gonna do me. My first option is a is the Christmas cookie sundae. Okay, so this is a Christmas. This is Christmas cookie. Flavored soft serve. With whipped cream hot fudge and holiday sprinkles. Okay, basic. Yeah. God, I love hot fudge with some ice cream.

Kelli 14:28
You know I do and that’s that’s one of the things I’ll say when McDonald’s has their ice cream machine working. That’s one of the things they’ve got their little hot. Is is the fudge

Chris 14:39
with ice cream is just great. It’s a little thing. Yeah, that’s pretty basic. This is new. I’ve never seen this before the orange bird Chura it’s the churro car near Cindy’s castle. This is a churro drizzled with citrus flavored marshmallow cream. Oh taught and it’s topped with little there’s little orange jelly candy slices. Yeah. And honestly, the cinnamon sugar does looks orange, which no and we know that it can do a different color. Right. So that looks cute. Okay, just a quick little thing on your way from one place. So

Kelli 15:12
is the sauce. Is it already soft on the Ciera? Or it’s like a side? No, this

Chris 15:17
is already soft on the Jura. Okay. Um, for that? Yeah. Are you are you gonna dip? No results. All right, so we never we never take advantage of funnel cakes at Disney like, like, we’re always just so stuffed so full and their funnel cakes are ginormous. I know. We also never properly take advantage of the amazingness that comes out of Sleepy Hollow. It’s Sleepy Hollow is underrated, super underrated. And you know what? We never get anything from there.

Kelli 15:49
We go by I think on every traveler trip just

Chris 15:52
because it changes and every time it changes. It’s even more amazing than the last. Yeah, that would come to an end given this opportunity. The ginger Apple funnel cake. This is a gingerbread flavored funnel cake.

Kelli 16:07
I totally did talk.

Chris 16:09
I didn’t talk about I don’t remember this one at all. Talked with apple pie filling. You weren’t listening to know what ice cream and caramel sauce was it? Well, I didn’t think you talked about you

Kelli 16:19
talked about that. And I talked about that. And I talked about how Sleepy Hollow is underwriting for SNAP. Remember this that’s duplicate. So you’re now officially doing the top nine. Okay, so go ahead.

Chris 16:35
They also have an apple cider float, which looks super cool and amazing. Just if you’re stopping by Sleepy Hollow refreshments.

Kelli 16:44
Okay. All right.

Chris 16:45
I’m moving over to Hollywood Studios. You didn’t do anything there. Did you? I don’t know. I thought you only to Disney Springs. Okay. Hollywood Studios get this at Rosie’s all American cafe and the trolley car Cafe two places. You can get the reindeer moose. To do this.

Kelli 17:01
I don’t think I’m gonna scroll down and just look at my Tomorrowland list.

Chris 17:06
Not what I’m saying. Well, I

Kelli 17:08
just want to be able to call you out if you mess up.

Chris 17:11
Always what it’s about. That’s what’s going to be on your tombstone. I just wanted to be able to call you out if you messed up. So the reindeer moose. You start with a salty pretzel shortbread cookie. you top that with cocoa dusted peanut butter mousse. Yeah. Then you top that with a little dollop of spiced Caramel Cheesecake that’s shaped to look like a little reindeer head and coated in chocolate. Then you give him a couple of little chocolate and antlers and a red crispy Pearl nose and you got yourself a little reindeer moose that’s trash this thing. Then you destroy that cute little Joker by just shoving the whole thing in your mouth. That one too. Oh, it looks adorable. It looks beautiful. And it looks delicious. I’m sure. Okay. I’m sad that I haven’t already had one of these homemade Pop Tarts at Woody’s lunchbox. But I just don’t know that I can ever go back to the original knowing that this one even exists out there. This is the holiday lunch box tart. This is an apple pie filled tart. Frosted with cinnamon icing, a sugar snowflake and holiday sprinkles. It looks Yeah, just delightful.

Kelli 18:37
I think Woody’s lunchbox is another place that’s underrated hugely under he got that grilled cheese. They got the homemade Pop Tart tomato soup, I think, ya know, it’s it’s a good place and they serve alcohol. It’s a good thing about what he’s lunchbox. Because if you’re over there on that side of the park, and you probably need it, just throw it out. I’m just keeping it real and just throwing out some ideas

Chris 19:00
for the parents to know. The ABC commissary which, you know, I haven’t been in there for forever. They’ve got a great meatless burger in there though. They also have this holiday. The sugar cookie snowman. This is a holiday sugar cookie topped with get this lemon curd. Love lemon.

Kelli 19:24
I don’t know about that. Yes. Does it feel very holiday to

Chris 19:27
me and then he is wrapped up with a white chocolate is a snowman.

Kelli 19:34
It’s a snow person. Snow people and it’s cold snow. People are not gender specific.

Chris 19:40
And then white cheddar, sugar cookie mousse

Kelli 19:43
way lemon curd and a white cheddar. sugar sugar cookie

Chris 19:49
mousse. I don’t know how I feel about white chocolate not white chatter. I

Kelli 19:53
was like That is weird. That is super weird. Yes. A chatter you said chatter no way you did too. You said that ban white cheddar and I was like That is weird. I don’t want this so weird what is the commissary doing? That is what comes Arias lost their marbles. That is weird.

Chris 20:18
Oh no, I’m not gonna recover. Oh funny. Oh, okay. Oh sugar cookie top with with lemon curd yum. And then a white chocolate. Okay. Sugar Cookie mousse. Are you thinking about cheddar right now in the shape in the shape of a snowman. Snow person, complete with a little chocolate scarf or the top hat.

Kelli 20:42
That’s a precious, precious.

Chris 20:44
It is not shattered people. It’s not shattered. It’s chocolate. Oh my gosh. at Epcot Werther’s Original ginger caramel cookie sandwich at caramel cush. Oh, John,

Kelli 20:55
you love caramel.

Chris 20:56
I do love caramel case you love caramel quiche. Too delicious. Big, warm, soft serve or soft gingerbread cookies. Okay. sandwiching buttercream icing and a drizzle of that Werther’s caramel.

Kelli 21:10
I I would eat that. Yes,

Chris 21:13
I would. I would double fist that thing right there. Italy, America and Japan.

Kelli 21:21
All right, we’re running over somebody that you think it’s gonna take that long.

Chris 21:27
Headed to the resorts here got three more here. The smallest cookie which you can get at the Gasparilla Island grill at the Grand Floridian. This is a chocolate chip cookie that’s mixed with graham cracker crumbles. And it’s topped with a pile of toasted marshmallows and Baby m&ms.

Kelli 21:44
That again for sure we would

Chris 21:48
a plant based gluten free holiday brownie. I talked about no you did not. market the market at Alan compass. I’m gonna mute yours. Microphone out.

Kelli 22:00
I did. I talked about it. You better finish your thing.

Chris 22:05
Finished chocolate brownie with chocolate ganache and a slight peppermint kick. super gooey, gooey looking. What I said about it, I’m gonna mute you right out. You weren’t got some power over here. All right. How about this one? The holiday of dumb cake. Did you say this one too? I don’t think I did. The maker. Holiday elf dome cake at the Polynesian Coney Island or cooks cafe. This is a vanilla dome cake with eggnog filling. Yeah. Cover that guy in a thin layer of chocolate ganache, not shatter ganache, chocolate. And then decorate the whole thing to like an elf with a with a green and red buttercream scarf. Yeah, that’s

Kelli 22:47
cute. I looked back through my notes. I was totally listen to your segment. But I look back through my notes as you were repeating things that I had already said. To see where where you didn’t listen to me. And a couple weeks ago, I did a segment on the Thanksgiving desserts. And so that funnel cake that you mentioned at Sleepy Hollow, launched on November the eighth and it runs through December the 30th. I had it in my Thanksgiving segments. Now the brownie. I definitely had in my segment last week.

Chris 23:24
I want everybody to just really lean in to how important this is.

Kelli 23:32
It is important that I prove that I am right. And that that’s

Chris 23:36
going to be right under the last thing and it’s going to be on your epitaph, hey, why don’t we go to World Showcase

Kelli 23:41
go to World Showcase. So I’ve got a top 10 list too. And my top 10 list is not going to be plagiarizing anything that you have already mentioned. I’m going to talk about why

Chris 23:52
not have done this whole segment before I forgot about that.

Kelli 23:56
I’m gonna talk about why you should stay at the Polynesian at least once. So first of all, I just want to acknowledge it’s our home resort. This is our DVC resort and we don’t know how we managed to get that to get that it just sort of this was one of the available resorts when we joined DVC and we jumped on it. I’m a I’m a transportation snob, and I need the monorail. So that was why we really jumped at the poly. We’ve always loved the poly through there. That’s it but so the poly is is not very affordable. It is a deluxe resort that is almost always hundreds and hundreds of dollars per night. And so I get that a lot of people can’t go if you have the opportunity to go either like buying somebody else’s points or something and doing it that way then please do so. Because I’m gonna tell you 10 reasons why you need to first they have a pineapple Lanai, right as you walk through the great ceremonial house before you get to the polls, it’s on your left and they serve dole whips, often with flavors that you can’t get at the park. And just another you know side tip if you’re going with children they will also put rum in that dough with they certainly that you get. Can’t do that at the Magic Kingdom. So I just want to say I have gotten dough whips there before that I enjoy. They tend to do a lot more marijuana thing Doh, doh whips, lime dole whips with the little coconut men and all that kind of stuff. So they do some really cool things there that you can’t get at the park. But that might be the only place you can get a true Dole Whip outside of the park. I

Chris 25:29
mean, I don’t know if that’s true anymore, but it definitely was it may still be one

Kelli 25:34
of the Sure. Number two, I believe they have the best merch store. I’m gonna say now in all the parks since Zach has torn down mouse mouse gear here and have not been to the new one yet.

Chris 25:50
You can’t say that

Kelli 25:51
Zach tore down mouse gear at Epcot, which was my favorite merch store. But I’m gonna say easily this is the best merch store at any of the resorts we sell. Yeah, but probably one of the best on property and this is why they have things in this merch that can be like $5 And then things that are like $5,000 Yeah, there’s such a wide range. This is Blue Tiki now. Mallanna mercantile is up on the second floor boutique. He’s down on the first floor and I could spend hundreds of dollars in boutique tea. Like just at the drop of a hat. I love boutique tea. crazily, one of my most favorite merch stores just really unique merch that you can’t get in other places. They have some like higher end name brand stuff like Tommy Bahama and things of that nature. Give it that really island feel. They they serve they sell Aviana flip flops. So anyway, I like boutique key don’t don’t miss that market opportunity about

Chris 26:50
the pineapple and it by the way is it is rather they sell the dough UPS anywhere else. It’s the one place you can get a dough with without having to have a park ticket. Oh yeah, true. You can get to the poly and have a great dough with with rum. Right.

Kelli 27:04
Good point. Number three and these are in no particular order, by the way. Trader Sam’s grog grotto. I mean, I don’t think we are shy about our love of trader Sam’s. Unfortunately, we have never actually been to the grog grotto we

Chris 27:17
have not.

Kelli 27:18
So we’re going to rectify that in our January trip. So we’re planning that heavily. But the fact that that’s the trader Sam’s own Walt Disney World property sort of mirror the one in Disneyland. I mean, that is reason enough to go to the pot. Absolutely right. Trader Sam’s is freaking all set.

Chris 27:36
It brings up the point of go to the poly even if you’re not staying there and just hanging out. And it was some of the stuff right but

Kelli 27:43
like the beauty of this is you’re just walking back to your room.

Chris 27:49
true, so true.

Kelli 27:51
There’s that number for Captain Cooks. I’m gonna go out on a limb here think I’m with you and say this is one of the best counter service offers at any resort but potentially on property. Yes, I would agree with that. Yeah, Captain Cooks is very underrated. And they have counter service that’s truly unique. It has like an Asian flair. A lot of fried rice, a lot of noodles like sesame noodles and stuff. Vary Island flavor, coconut pork, a lot of that kind of stuff. Tip. They sell Tonga toast, which you can also get at Kona cafe. It’s cheaper at Captain Cook. I was gonna say that if you did, yeah, yes. So if you if you’re a Tonga toast fan, get it at Captain Cooks, because it’s cheaper than apt and it’s exactly the same thing. Exactly the same thing. I think it’s a great counter service to be right there at the pool. We get tons of stuff and carry it back to the room. So I can’t say enough good things about Captain Cooks. And

Chris 28:58
you can get some traditional things there too that you can get in all the other counter services at the resorts but they just have this slate of a day Island themed wonderful foods,

Kelli 29:08
breakfast burritos, things like that stuff that you just don’t see in a lot of other places. The pool area pool area has an amazing beach. But one of the things I love the most about the pool area is there’s a couple of different pools right so everybody sort of goes to that middle one. There’s a quiet pool over near where we stayed last time. That’s right, very underused. But what I want to do one day we’ve never done this so far is to be in the hot tub. They have an infinity hot tub to be in the Infinity hot tub watching the fireworks when they go off at Magic Kingdom because they play the music from Magic Kingdom right

Chris 29:46
there at the pool area.

Kelli 29:48
I mean that’s special, y’all.

Chris 29:49
It is special.

Kelli 29:50
Also at the pool area. They have these Adirondack chairs on the beach, you can sit there and eat your rum flavored dough whip and watch Fireworks because like a swing there Yeah, like it’s amazing. The pool area the beach all good. The rooms are great. The rooms are special because I haven’t seen any other rooms like this on property. You get a kitchenette, a small little kitchenette,

Chris 30:14
but you also get two bathrooms or the DVC deluxe rooms.

Kelli 30:17
Yes Get two bathrooms with like one bed one like king sized bed and then to pull out like a sofa and then the counter under the TV folds down. So it’s it’s a good setup. Really. It really is. I love the two bathrooms two showers at least two showers one tub, two toilets and a kitchenette. I like it. Yeah, I’m totally for it. Transportation. I’ve already said I’m a transportation snob. So at transit poly, you’ve got the monorail to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. You can walk to the transportation and ticket center. You got multiple boat options to Magic Kingdom and you have boats that go to other Magic Kingdom resorts. So if you just don’t have to take one of those god awful buses. That’s

Chris 31:04
right. You really don’t. Unless you let’s see. Unless you’re going to what Hollywood studios or animal kingdom right. But but not

Kelli 31:16
necessarily. You could take no no you could go to Epcot. And take the skyline Skyline skyline

Chris 31:24
to Hollywood Studios. Yes, that’s true,

Kelli 31:26
right? There are ways there a way to get around. I truly hate the buses like I do. There are ways

Chris 31:30
if you’re staying in one of the DVC rooms on Poly, you might as well just walk over to the transportation ticket car. It’s closer than walking to the great ceremony ceremony house for the monorail.

Kelli 31:40
Okay, the last three decor we’ve been to Maui, this is as close as you’re gonna get it in the state. That’s the fact it’s essentially all Lonnie in the States. So if you think you might like Oh, Lonnie, I’m telling you the poly is super similar to that. The lobby smells like a tropical oasis. Pre pandemic they used to give lays out when you checked in, it does not feel like a hotel, right? It’s not one big building. It’s like multiple houses. It feels like you’re walking around an island and their lobby, I say has the best Christmas decor. I would agree. Hands down. Okay, number nine. You’re gonna disagree with this one. But it is unique to the Pali they have the spirit of aloha luau. No, I don’t disagree. Now. We’ve never gone you think it’s a huge disappointment. But in any case, that’s not something you can get to any other resort

Chris 32:29
again, to my point of poly is a destination in and of itself. Yes. For Reason for things like this. Yes.

Kelli 32:35
And finally, number 10. I believe Polly has the best view and the most relaxing atmosphere overall. Yeah, they’ve got the best lobby, the most like comfortable seating in the lobby area. They’ve got like a little coffee area there. And then you’ve got trader Sam’s, you’ve got Kona cafe, you’ve got the spirit of aloha. You’ve got the tiki Arkin tile Ohana lounge up there. Yes, it is the lobby, you feel like you’re on an island, you feel like you’re at Alani or your family or something like that. It’s just so much greenery and

Chris 33:15
hardwoods and dark, you know, sort of dark and Hello, you know, the same the lobby, the grand flow is nice because it’s so open and it’s got lots of great seating and stuff, but it’s, it’s bright, and it’s usually boisterous, you know, which is fine for its thing, but the Pali is truly like, you step in there, you take a deep breath, and you just feel that stress melt away well,

Kelli 33:39
and then when you’re walking around the resort, it’s all of the greenery and the tropical thing and one time when we were there, we were waiting, I was waiting on you. I was downstairs and you were up in the room or something and I sat there and watch these two guys come to fix automatic doors that were opening and they were apparently opening too fast. And so they wanted to slow down the automatic doors. You didn’t want to slow them down too much want to slow them down to the proper amount so that it felt relaxing and and but not welcoming and welcoming but not too slow and almost like a luxury opening of the door and sitting there watching those two repairmen like make that decision is this the proper speed for the doors or the feel of this? Oh my gosh, like I don’t know what they’re making per hour. But they just spent this one price. Well,

Chris 34:35
which speaks to the intentionality of our resort is designed to make you feel like you are on an island oasis. Yes,

Kelli 34:42
you can walk along the beach, there’s a sidewalk that goes along the beach, Adirondack chairs, I mean, the poly is one of those places where you can have plenty of resort days and not get bored.

Chris 34:53
We’ve compared it to allottee but you know what it really feels like to me is it feels like that Kaanapali resort area there is in Maui, Maui Yeah, with all those resorts looking to get that walkway on the beach and all that. That’s what it sort of

Kelli 35:05
feels like. It feels much more like Maui than on Oahu. Yeah. And then

Chris 35:08
you get and then you get, you know, the nighttime electric parade on the water, which always surprises you and delights you. It’s a great, it’s great.

Kelli 35:17
I love the Paulie, I highly recommend that you stay at least once if you can. It’s worth it. At least visit it. Yes, absolutely.
