So you remember a few months ago when Disney now so we’re going to have like two nights where they they let the cast members have the park where because over COVID They didn’t get the thing they do every year and sort of talk about award winner cast member awards and all this kind of thing. Those things got rained out or bad weathered out or whatever back in the early well, they’re going to try them again in May. Okay, so may 3 and may 15 Depart Magic Kingdom will be closing at 430. So the cast members can go in there and that works out for cast member make all that up. Finally, the article I read said that those are actually pretty good days if you don’t care about nighttime spectaculars and things like that it’s usually a pretty good day to go to Magic Kingdom because people find out that the parks closing early and so they don’t go that day. Yep. Yep, it is. Really cool thing at Disneyland. They’re going to be doing Disneyland after dark grad night reunion. So tickets go went on sale this past week for events on June 23 28th and 30th. Enjoy sightings of beloved Disney characters throughout the evening with a few of them proudly wearing their cap and gown so you can march along and pep rally style with some of your Disney friends dance through the decades two hits of today and yesterday of some retro photo opportunities. I love this one unique cafeteria inspired food. And party attire is encouraged. Don’t forget to show your school spirit.

You know, I saw something on the socials where people were talking about like, one of the best places to get merch in the Disney area was actually the Walmart and the target in Kissimmee. Oh, interesting. They were saying that the Walmart in Kissimmee has like a wall of disney pins if you’re really into that a great prices. Also great place to go are the Goodwill’s?

merch at the Goodwill’s? Because all the lost and found from Disney gets taken to those Goodwill’s Oh yes. And so they showed the shelves, right? So they have like brand new things with tags still on it. Glare, right? So I think that’s fantastic. We’ve never done that. And so that got me thinking, well, where would be some other fun places to get merch without living in Kissimmee, like outside of the Disney Parks not necessarily in Kissimmee. So I decided to do a little digging online because I know there’s a couple of really cool stores online that have tons of Disney March, and you can go you know in person as well if that’s your jam. But you know, I’m going to be the one shopping online so Hey, y’all I would make sure that they had all light options. So I’m gonna talk just about some options which are fun. So the first one is h&m. Now, I’m not a huge one of my favorites shopper here, right? I’m not a huge shopper at h&m. But I can say I had to go return something at the outlets here in Nebraska, that I bought and they had an h&m store and I was like, Well, why not? I’ll just browse. Okay. And so I went into the h&m there, and I got one of my favorite Disney hoodies that light purple. Just the embroidery, really sharp, really sharp, really great quality. So h&m has some good ones. So if you go online, they had over 400 results. If you look at the Disney stuff now two thirds of that were kids and babies. So if you’ve got children great place to get some Disney merch there because h&m is super affordable. But they have plenty of adult stuff too. So I got my purple hoodie. I think it was 2999. They have online this really cool like transparent umbrella for 1499. They have 1299 T shirts, 2999 hoodies, and they had PJ sets for 1799. I mean, I’m a sucker for a good PJ CRR. And then all everywhere are your T shirts. But I love a good PJ site now, as of right now, in fact, but I love a solid PJ set. I just don’t ever wear them. Or I’ll wear like the pants with one of your T shirts. So my relationship with PJs is so weird. But in any case, so they’ve got some really cool stuff. They’re at h&m, and it’s super affordable, right? So shop disney.com You know, gets a lot of grief for the prices, shipping all that fun stuff. So h&m is a good stop. Next stop funko.com Now people often think of Funko is just the little people which um, for the people, the Funko Pop people, that’s maybe what they’re known for, but they have some really cool stuff. So they do more than just Disney. Right? They have a lot of different Funko like lines, but if you look at their Disney stuff, they had 184 results on my Disney search. So they have what I thought was just adorable. A 50th anniversary Castle stuffy. It has like legs and arms. And like eyes it’s like a start up like a purse a stuffy person in the shape of the 50th anniversary castle. Right so we were debating this week the colors of the castle, right? Yeah.

Oh right. $8 One thing that I need. I feel like they have a T shirt that says bills book club. Yes, like Thank you, Bill that that’s $20 you probably do need that.

They also sell a lot of Funko board games we have several Disney board games these range like 20 to $25 they have some drinkware they have a whole line of like Disney card games for $8 that from Funko Yeah, so photos got a lot and that’s 184 search results there on Funko for Disney Next up we’ve got hot topic now I don’t think this is a secret like people know that Hot Topic sales Disney merch. But what I’ll tell you online is that you type in Disney in their search bar and I got 21,670 results. Okay, this is the place to go if you’re doing the Disney bounding stuff. But also you can get like a little mermaid bathing suit like bikini bottoms that are the color of her fin and then like, you know the bra that’s like the bra that she wears type thing. They also have like a Juana theme a Lilo and Stitch theme bikini. Now here’s what I love about Hot Topic is they are body positive. And so they have plenty of plus size options in bikinis and you know, skirts and what have you. And I love that they’re in a body positive way.

Tons of cosplay stuff or cosplay stuff dresses, things like that. They already have moon night merch. This is also where you should get your blow up outdoor Disney people.

I’m going to talk about some great ways to celebrate Cinco de Maya if you’re at Walt Disney World, okay, so Oh, by the way, you know, we’re singing in Maya comes from like, what? Why it’s a thing. I don’t. It celebrates the May 5 1862 victory over France in the Battle of Puebla during the Franco Mexican War. Okay, cool. And we actually celebrate it much more in America than they do in Mexico. It’s actually not that big a deal in Mexico. We

seem like it maybe it does just not quite like it does here. So obviously, a lot of this first part is going to is going to center around the Mexican Pavilion at Epcot. But I do have some other things. So just inside the Mayan temple there in Mexico, people and we do a lot of times to just walk right through that. That exists. Yeah. And so if that area there is called remember me La Silla, roseum Dia del. And they have they’ve got some pre Hispanic pieces there, that that sort of hint at the beginning of like, did where does Dallas more okay, in Mexico, and so honoring their ancestors? There’s some beautiful, intricately decorated coladas, which are the skulls that they make sugar. And then of course, there’s the big huge bridal couple there in the middle of the room. So, you know, take a minute and look at some of that stuff. Some of its really, really cool. As you pass through that, of course, then you enter into Plaza de los amigos. They’re inside the Mexican pavilion proper. Nobody does. Feeling outside while you’re inside better than Disney does. And this is a perfect example of it’s it’s always Twilight in Plaza de los amigos. And they’ve got those wonderful little kiosks and little bizarre that you walk around and there there’s, there’s always something new there. And it’s just such a lively little village atmosphere. And like I said, you feel like you’re outside the village borders a river and on the other side of the river is a is another Mayan temple and in the background, there’s a volcano. It’s just very, very comfortable feeling. And the shops there is found that you always find something different. You’ll find, you know, the syrup, ease in the sombreros and things like that, but you’ll always find something a little different. We bought some amazing like, vanilla extract there. Oh, that’s right. We did Yes. was amazing. Yes. Of course. Also in there, do not miss Lacava del Tequila. hugely popular, almost always aligned. But get one drink. You’ll know why there’s always aligned or true craftsman behind the bar. It’s a very cozy little bar just in case so they they do not have it right now, but we’re hopeful that that’s going to come back right supposedly, it’s the best chips in case so in the park. We’ll see all their drinks or tequila based herbs and they have things that are she wouldn’t normally get like an avocado Martini. Right with its rimmed with hibiscus salt. Yeah, they’ve got something called the wild ones Terra mana Blanco, tequila, Mango passionfruit Paret puree, ancho ver de chile liqueur, lime juice, Apple Jack and ginger cordial with a lack and salt rim. I mean, just she’s not. Right. This isn’t just the frozen margarita you get at the kiosk, which those are also great. I’m gonna talk about them. So also inside the Plaza de los amigos. You’ve got the Grand Fiesta tour, which is the traditional boat ride featuring the three carriers that just basically talks about, you know, the wonder that is Mexican culture, especially for Dia de los Muertos. Right. And then you got the Santa Angelyn which is Mexico’s table service restaurant. They’re there. They’re nice, they’re fine dining, Mexican service restaurant. It’s a wonderful ambiance. It’s dark, it’s you know, lit by candles. You’re right on the river there the rest of the attraction goes through you can also see the crowd in the in the plaza there. So just a really great commerce romantic out outside seating field there. But when it comes to food, I actually prefer to go back outside and go across the way to cantina de Sena in jail, where you’ve got true outdoor seating again on the water on the water or Are you actually can sit indoors to there if you prefer. They offer fantastic views. If you can get there early enough and get the right seat, you can get pretty amazing views of the nighttime spectacular. They’re harmonious. And is there anything better than sitting at a table watching that show with a plate of nachos and a beer or a margarita? I can’t think of anything if there is

right across right across Dolla dolla it was not get it the right across the little walkway from the cantina is the margarita stand there chosen a margarita where you can get all sorts of frozen and just mixed margaritas go for the one that’s the Fiesta Margarita. That’s their three different flavors yes of their other frozen margaritas and you can also grab things like empanadas there while you’re there.

skimp they don’t. They bring it they bring the alcohol they’re nice, strong beverage. No doubt about it. Nothing creates a Cinco Demayo atmosphere more than checking out or catching mariachi colbray While you’re there in that area mariachi gara amazing. Make sure to go listen to our episode where we discuss the history of mariachi Cobra and how they they actually predated Epcot at Walt Disney World. And so they’ve been at Epcot since the day it opened. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see them joined by Miguel from cocoa. If you’ve ever seen him in the parks, he’s often a he’s a handcrafted puppet. Yes, that’s playing his guitar and just just being himself from Coco right. And it’s amazing. Yes. So try to catch those guys. It makes your Cinco Demayo feel very authentic with this. Also, if you’re in the parks during a festival there’s usually even another booth that’s doing Mexican fare for either you know the Food Wine Festival or the or the festival, the arts or whatever.

you did discover that you love horchata lovely, lovely. So a few things to do outside of Epcot. So I love this, this idea that was was mentioned by gosh, what was the website I need? I need to find that website and give it to you for them. But it has to go over to Coronado Springs Resort. I just stayed at Coronado Springs Resort. It’s got a very Southwestern Mexican theme and a lot of ways they’ve got lots of places there to eat that are you know where you can get your chips and queso but specifically go to their three bridges Bar and Grill at Villa de Lago. This is their their Larry, there’s Lago Lake, which is right in the middle of Coronado Springs. It sort of surrounds that lake and there are three bridges that go out to the middle of the lake. And then the right in the middle is this wonderful outdoor, open air, bar and restaurant where you can get an amazing meal. Amazing, you’ll see fireworks shooting up from one of the parks nearby. Just a wonderful idea there. And then over at Disney Springs go over to parody so 37 not traditionally Mexican fair, but definitely Latin fair. And they have 30 kinds of 30 plus kinds of tequila there. They usually have live music. They’ve got lighting made of margarita glasses. You can also hit the Four Rivers cantina barbacoa food truck at Disney Springs, so for some trendy street tacos on the go. You’ve talked about fronteira cucina before yes we need to go their seven time beard James Beard Award winner
