Episode Transcript:

Chris 0:28
Welcome aboard Disney fam. Hello out there Disney fam. Welcome to this week’s show. My name is Chris and I’m Kelly. Kelly’s rocking those Remy ears with the little chef’s hat and the whiskers and I

Kelli 0:42
am I would say that they are mildly adjacent to my section.

Chris 0:46
Their section their World Showcase Jason. Now the topic adjacent topic. So hey, we had downloads from new places this week. We are so excited about that. We thank everybody for downloads and if you did download go ahead and give us a review. Good year Arizona. Oh, what a great night is a good name. I think you know as long as you don’t immediately think about the tire. I think that that’s a great name for town. That’s a great night says suburb west of Phoenix. Welcome welcome. Holly Springs North Carolina.

Kelli 1:24
Oh,

Chris 1:25
just a few miles southwest of Raleigh Olufsen This is right between apex and Fuquay Varina

Kelli 1:32
you clever enough.

Chris 1:33
I’ve been to all those places. It’s beautiful area Oskaloosa Iowa.

Kelli 1:39
Oh, yeah. Oskaloosa Iowa,

Chris 1:41
Iowa. It’s about an hour I think southeast of Des Moines to welcome all you good folks from Oskaloosa and I love this one. Dublin Ireland. Yeah,

Kelli 1:52
that’s also topic adjacent for me. No, come on. It is and you may be thinking how is Remy and Ireland both topic adjacent but you will see thinking

Chris 2:00
that’s exactly what I was thinking. So it’s capital of our good friends over in the work huge Ireland.

Kelli 2:07
Huge, huge.

Chris 2:08
We just had Limerick a couple of weeks ago

Kelli 2:10
that’s right we did they tell us the news on

Chris 2:15
Okay, so the don’t say gay saga continues. And I think you know probably because certain politicians just want it to continue to keep keep firing that red meat wanting base up

Kelli 2:29
any case, or red meat wanting base?

Chris 2:33
Yeah, man. They love that. culture war red meat. US House of Republicans sent a letter to Bob JPEG condemning his stance. Florida’s don’t say gay law. I mean, do we really

Kelli 2:47
care this much said the US House of Republicans

Chris 2:50
representatives. The US? I’m sorry. US House Republicans.

Kelli 2:54
Okay. The House Republicans, okay. sent a

Chris 2:57
letter to him. It just seems like a lot of effort. Just tell people that they’re not welcome. But whatever.

Kelli 3:05
Condemning his response.

Chris 3:07
Yes. And let this be a lesson. Mr. J. Peck? You have now caught slings and arrows on all sides? Yes, you could. You could have just called slings and arrows on one side. So, you know,

Kelli 3:22
I mean, how about we just, it costs you nothing to let people live their best life? I don’t know why they have to hate so much on the LGBTQ community.

Chris 3:31
Well, you know, they don’t see it that way. But do allied, okay. Um, so recently on an episode, we highlighted the new story living by Disney concept. Yes, these neighborhoods, right. Did you

Kelli 3:47
did you buy into that? Do we have a house? No. But

Chris 3:51
we were, we’re gonna if we ever get an opportunity, okay. But in any case, I mean, this was they really announced this, like, right when they were ready to start that they’re gonna break ground on April 26. in Palm Springs. Wow. No, they’re serious. They weren’t joking around, man. They are breaking ground. So clearly, this has been in the works for a long time. Speaking of housing, did you see this Walt Disney World announced that they’ve earmark 80 acres of land in which to build 1300 units of affordable housing? Yes, yeah. This is cool. I mean, baby steps, crawl, walk, run all that stuff. I mean, they set themselves up for like a lot of like, jokers, hucksters out there that are like, Oh, but it’s Disney. Will it really be affordable?

Kelli 4:41
Is it affordable for their employees or anybody Florida? What

Chris 4:44
they said was that the idea is that it will be affordable housing for cast members and others living in the area. Okay. So I would imagine that the closer you get to this 80 acres, the more likely it is that the people are cast members. recite. So you know what, though one of the bus for being unaffordable all that stuff or your question whether or not their motives are true that it’s good, it’s good. It’s a good thing and hopefully they can execute it in the same vein as their intentions. Yep, absolutely. I don’t know what word I’m trying to use there. Oh, Walt Disney World is now offering for a little while, at least, discounts on hotels and resorts to Disney plus subscribers between July 8 And September 30. Pretty decent discounts. I mean, it depends on which where you’re staying, but anywhere from 25% of Deluxe resorts and villas, to like 10% off, like Fort wilderness campsites.

Kelli 5:49
And I guess they verify your Disney plus,

Chris 5:52
that’s that was literally the very first question that popped up how they’re gonna know. Right? And so the idea is, it’ll make life a lot easier for people that their their Disney Experience app email address is the same email address as their Disney plus registration. Right? I

Kelli 6:11
mean, that’s a big deal, right? Because you get Disney plus for free for at least a year if you’re a Verizon customer.

Chris 6:16
And so then you get 25% off, it’s a good deal. Or, you know, depending on which level of resort you stay in, right, it increases the amount of discount that you get. So for example, you get 20% off at moderate resorts, or the fort wilderness cabins and Art of Animation. So it’s okay 15% off at value resorts 10% off of the campsite. So, you know, it’s a it’s something it is, that’s cool. Yep. I thought this was cool. Walt Disney World announces construction of two new solar arrays covering up 1000 acres, and is a major part of Disney’s push to achieve this cool thing to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030. That’s only eight years. And I know that we’re already maybe too late in some depending on which study you look at. But you know what? Good on. Yeah. So net zero in eight years from I mean, a big

Kelli 7:16
corporation like that even taking that type of a stand is big is huge,

Chris 7:20
is huge. And they’re and they’re they’re building the infrastructure to do it. It should come online in early 2023. So we’re not far away. And this would be equal to removing 29,500 cars from the roads every year. Wow. Yeah. So basically 30,000 cars off the roads every year is what this would equal. That

Kelli 7:42
is awesome. That’s cool. I think that’s fantastic. Not to

Chris 7:47
mention, that they, by the by 2030. The whole you know, San Francisco sighs Walt Disney World area. Plans to be net zero carb.

Kelli 7:57
That’s fantastic.

Chris 7:59
I think it’s great. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I don’t know that it starts to correct anything, but at least we’re not they won’t be hurting it anymore. Right. So that’s so you remember back maybe six months ago, maybe longer when Splash Mountain? Had I had one of the boat sink? Yes. Well, we had another one.

Kelli 8:23
Oh, my goodness. You know what they should do? They should refurb that and turn it into Tiana.

Chris 8:30
Sounds like maybe the boats need some work for show. So boat my favorite thing was that it? People realized it because somebody that was there in the moment was shooting a tick tock video of it. Oh, no. And they and they they posted it to tick tock with music from my heart will go off from Titanic.

Kelli 8:53
It’s brilliant. So does integrate interwebs are great.

Chris 8:56
People are so funny. They’re good. At this stuff, man. It’s great. So guardians of Galaxy News. A cast member preview is set for April the 11th. Now the official opening for him. Of what? I never told you. What this was for? The Halcyon no Guardians of the Galaxy.

Kelli 9:18
Oh, preview.

Chris 9:20
You know, maybe I’m drunk. I don’t know. What did I say? No, I

Kelli 9:23
think you said the Guardians of the Galaxy. But for some reason in my head it it was Star Wars. Okay.

Chris 9:30
Guardians of the Galaxy? Cosmic rewind. at Epcot. Okay. Official Opening set for May the 27th. Right before Memorial Day. Yes, sir. Preview cast member preview though on April the 11th, which I think is cool. That is cast members and DVC members also received an email just in the last week or so saying to keep an eye out for opportunities for DVC members to get early entry into that ride also,

Kelli 9:56
did you see that? Yes,

Chris 9:58
I got Are you

Kelli 9:59
okay? didn’t get an email

Chris 10:04
and they’ve all you remember when Jungle Cruise was refurbed and like D 23. had like a ticketed right preview of it right? They’re also doing that for this on May the 15th. Okay if you’re a D 23. Member, that’s cool. There’s no word officially that I saw yet about. About annual passholders. According to social media posts by Carol Stein who does the entertainment right now in the gazebo at the UK pavilion in Epcot, she will be moving to the to the American adventure rotunda to debut a new musical presentation. Starting today, this Sunday, April the 10th at 11:30am. No word on what this means anything for voices of liberty, obviously, I hope she’s just another thing at the American adventure. And maybe they’re bringing back like the British Invasion type music that they have been having it UK

Kelli 11:02
maybe so. Is this the same lady that was that just killed the piano when we were there holiday thing? I bet so I think it is she freaking killed it.

Chris 11:13
She’s good. Yes. Really good. Yes. The mid April reverb timeline for Expedition Everest has been now changed to indefinitely maybe they’re gonna fix the Yeti.

Kelli 11:26
I think they should. I mean, it could take them a couple of months just to get all of the hair ties off up there at the top of the mountain.

Chris 11:32
No, don’t do that. Just leave those. So did you see the new stuff coming out for runDisney they released?

Kelli 11:38
Oh my gosh, yes. It’s so great. It has a very 1980s vibe, but

Chris 11:44
it’s very 90s this is 90s a very cool 90s Retro theme to us. It looks like the

Kelli 11:51
90s retro and now I don’t want nine needs to be retro. I’m not ready for that yet. I’m not ready for 90s to be retro.

Chris 11:59
Well it is and it’s gonna be the same for next year’s marathon. 30 years they’re gonna do in the marathon. The

Kelli 12:04
90s was 30 years ago. Yeah, that’s right.

Chris 12:09
Real quick, Disneyland’s do something really cool. This spring hurts. We don’t talk about Bruno projection shows coming to the small world facade. It’s a Small World facade is Disneyland. Outdoor facade. Yeah, it’s really going to be awesome. The music and effects. It’s cool. They’re very cool. Yep. Okay, so you’re ready for my Tomorrowland. Hey, I’m

Kelli 12:32
ready for your Tomorrowland.

Chris 12:35
So again, thanks to blog, Miki, because I got all the stuff for this from blog, Miki. And a lot of our news items also come from them. They do a wonderful job. Tell them all I can. So what I’m going to talk about is at Star Wars Galaxies edge. This was obviously years in the making, and it’s it is like no other land that Disney had ever done before. Right. But not everything that they wanted to do. Got in there. Okay. Right. So we’re gonna be talking about the things that were originally planned for Galaxy’s edge that they didn’t do. And I’m hopeful that one day we will see them do we

Kelli 13:23
know why they didn’t do most of

Chris 13:25
believes to be budget cuts like they did that? Just it gets us all done? It does, but I’m gonna there’s gonna be a little twist at the end. You know, maybe not budget cuts. Maybe they had other ideas. So we’ll see. So the first thing I’ll talk about is the Kelly quarry club. Okay. The The idea here is that this was in bat two, which is the planet we’re technically on when we’re in Galaxy’s edge. And the black spire outpost area, there was a a bathhouse that was converted into a double decker venue. The upstairs would be just sort of a cantina or lounge and the downstairs would be an actual table service restaurant with a dinner show. It would feel more exclusive downstairs interesting so think about you know, if it was somewhere else at Disney it would be high end restaurant with a lounge right? But the lounge would be upstairs. The dinner show would be would feature a twilight female named Gaia Twilight because obviously a one of the alien beings that’s ubiquitous throughout Star Wars. Oh

Kelli 14:43
no. Yes. ubiquitous. I thought I knew that immediately. I

Chris 14:47
needed equitas. I was talking to the other people might not know Okay. By the way, this segment could get us more email and traffic than we’ve ever seen before because Star Wars people are crazy so the dinner show would feature her Gaia. She will be a singer that will perform the dinner show but she also owns the whole join. So she’s got chops. She’s a strong woman. Okay, so the category club, she

Kelli 15:16
is she identified as a woman. mean, she’s an alien. I don’t know what type of gender I think she

Chris 15:21
does. I think in this case, she does. Okay. I don’t I don’t have officially seen her document and pronouns but okay, maybe so. Okay. So yeah, the category club didn’t make it. Okay. On the budget cutting room floor, okay. Or was it? Oh, gosh, okay. Okay. So the next thing roaming droids roaming?

Kelli 15:45
Well that seems like a fairly easy thing for them to work in. So,

Chris 15:48
so still today Galaxy’s edge is intended to be highly immersive experience, right? You aren’t just interacting with cast members like anywhere else in Walt Disney World or Disneyland. You’re interacting with the citizenry of that too. And black spire outpost right. Okay, when you see characters from the Star Wars universe, stormtroopers, Kylo, Ren, Rey, Chewbacca, etc. It’s not intended to be a character Meet and Greet like you’ve experienced anywhere else. Right? You’re not walking up to Kylo Ren and right, yeah, in a photo like that, right? You’re just one, you’re intended to be just one of a huge population of people that are passing through this sector of the galaxy. Right. We sort of seen vestiges of this early, like in some, like maybe our first trip there, where you remember seeing Chewbacca, so

Kelli 16:38
I’ve definitely seen chewy,

Chris 16:40
slinking around, you know, and then like, trying to hide from people. Exactly. So then a little later, you might see stormtroopers coming through and clearly asking about if we’d seen this right, this resistance fight. Right, right. Well, like anywhere else in the Star Wars universe, there should be roaming droids, protocol droids, astromech droid slash RTD, to the little things that are really low to the ground and run all over the place. And that was the original plan for that too, and Galaxy’s edge, at least in terms of astromech droids like RTD to the early concept art actually showed people walking around, you know how the concept art it’s, it’s beautiful paintings and pictures, and it showed people outside of Smugglers Run in the Millennium Falcon, and you’d see two or three astromech droids interacting or running around among the people. One highly publicized piece of concept art that was published out there was redone and republished it was the exact same picture. But the astromech droids were taken out. Oh, interesting. And it was a it was a straight up legit decision to we’re not going to do the astromech droids

Kelli 17:57
I kind of believe that they might be some type of an insurance liability.

Chris 18:00
Well, in my mind, it was going to work like that. Remember, push the robot trash candles interactive data handler, right? That’s, that’s, I think that in my mind, that’s what they wanted to do. Jedi and Sith battles with you right there with them. So think Ray and Kylo Ren having a lightsaber battle. Right building on the immersive experience of the land early concept art led us to believe that we would see live acts and Jedi and Sith battles likely between Ray and Kylo Ren but maybe others too. rooftops would come alive with dueling lightsaber special effects that indicated mastery of the force where they would move things without touching it you know, all we’ve really gotten today is seeing Ray roaming around checking her speeder or other members of you know back as in Kylo Ren you know, just sort of walking around sometimes they’re on the roof or so on the rooftops Yeah, we see that but no real fight scenes or anything, right. And then you’ve got the beep boop boutique. Awesome. I cannot believe they didn’t go forward with this. Because that’s such a good name. If you didn’t get it, this is obviously would be Galaxy’s Edge version of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Although I think the real The original plan was to make this like killer, you would be able to go to a tailor shop that would be in bath to and Galaxy’s edge. And guests could live out their most amazing Star Wars cosplay dreams, right? They would have a full blown makeup artist in there and give you a selection of Star Wars universe aliens to choose from, and they would transform you into one of those aliens.

Kelli 19:41
And so the problem is, is the beatbox Boutique is really for small young girls, like eight and younger whereas this one is going to be grown men lined out the door. Right because

Chris 19:55
yeah, you see them already. I mean, like they’re in their cosplays there just they’re just, you know, humans, right, right. Grown men grown ass men that are just owning those robes. Owning those lightsabers, I

Kelli 20:12
don’t think we’d want to call it a boutique. Man, I think I think maybe that name might be a bit off base, right?

Chris 20:21
I mean, that is who there would be,

Kelli 20:23
that would absolutely be their target market. Because those are the ones that can afford it. Right, the 10 or 11 or 12 year olds are not gonna be able to convince their parents to spend that kind of money to get

Chris 20:34
as expensive as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is. I have a feeling this would have been even

Kelli 20:38
gotta be more expensive. Oculus gotta be more expensive than that. And also because people would pay more for it, right, but you’re good. It’s grown people paying that kind of cash. Right? It’s not the children. Right. All right. So

Chris 20:50
some of these things actually do exist now. Okay, on the house, Aeon galactic starcruiser. So Gaia, that’s interesting. So you’ve seen you’ve seen footage of all this mafia guy is the owner and the performer at the crown of Karelia dining room, a restaurant on the ship along with her super popular Rodian DJ Yes, this version has no upstairs cantinas just the restaurant and the dinner show. And Astro mix do roam around on the ship all the time. To give it that super immersive experience. Okay. Yep. And you can go online now and you can find video of Ray and Kylo Ren in what is a really pretty amazing battle scene. lightsabers going crazy and and a ridiculous bit of special effects work with Kylo Ren pulls Ray across the room using the Force.

Kelli 21:50
I think I have seen that. Yeah. So

Chris 21:52
So was it budget cutting? or did somebody had the idea for the star cruiser and think Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Why would people go to the star cruiser to get all this extra bit of immersiveness?

Kelli 22:05
And oh, we charge $5,000? For two nights on the Starkers?

Chris 22:08
Right? Boy Mickey was a little bit you know, cool. You know coy about there. There definitely were against this, but they were there. Their title was all this cool stuff that you were supposed to get a galaxy’s edge because now sits behind a $6,000 pay. Well,

Kelli 22:23
that’s I mean, it’s, that’s legit.

Chris 22:26
So that’s truth. Be bought boutique. Not there yet.

Kelli 22:31
But that’s not on the Halcyon. Okay, because you’re supposed to come dressed. Really

Chris 22:36
the idea and they are selling you know, some cosplay outfits just like the makeup.

Kelli 22:40
The makeup. Right? Okay, so,

Chris 22:42
are you go? Okay,

Kelli 22:43
well, I’m gonna do really hard turn here. So April, the 11th. Monday, April the 11th. Is national cheese fondue day.

Chris 22:56
Well, I know we’re having for dinner.

Kelli 22:59
So I decided that I would talk about the 10 best cheese dishes at Walt Disney World. I’ve loved this idea you would love it. And you know what our listeners appreciate my love of cheese. And so I don’t think anybody’s going to be surprised by this. And I’m just feeling some really cool posts and stories on Insta this week. Okay, so I’ve got these ranked, and you can debate them as you wish, but they’re correct. And we’ll start with 10 and work our way to one disagree. As long as you don’t mind being wrong, you could disagree. Absolutely. And just be wrong about it, which is fine. So I have tried all of these except for one. And that is the number 10. And your why you put it number two, yes. Also because it’s so difficult to get. This would be the pepperjack pretzel at the launching pad and tomorrow land. This pepperjack pretzel is $7.25 and it’s you’re talking soft baked jalapeno bread stuff with lots of melted cheese. They’re not making this one property according to Disney food blog. They’re getting these you can order them, but they are good and they are popular. The problem I’ve got with the launching pad is that it’s just never open. Seems like it’s never and it will close at like four right when I’m craving a savory snack. And I don’t get that and fill in our face with sweets. It seems like such a great opportunity to have the launching pad open maybe more central in the Magic Kingdom, like maybe move these pepperjack pretzels to like a cart near the castle or something. But I’m just saying like, I have issues. I’ve never been able to get to the launching pad when it’s open. Sure. But I think I would really like this pepper jack.

Chris 24:44
I think you would too. And to be fair, on my most recent trip just two weeks ago, I wasn’t there the launching pad was I know but I’m saying it was open at like eight o’clock at night

Kelli 24:55
which is insane. But in any case, that’s why this is right number 10. It could potentially be higher But you’re there go get it because the launching pad is so hard to get into. Then it’s number 10. That’s $7.25. That’s

Chris 25:07
in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom.

Kelli 25:09
Yes. Number nine. This is going to be eight spoons cafe at Animal Kingdom. Now here at eight spoons cafe. They have regular baked mac and cheese for 449. They also speak your love language which is baked mac and cheese with pulled pork for 679.

Chris 25:28
Yes, they do you say that that’s the best number nine is wrong.

Kelli 25:32
You’re right you were wrong about I’ve never had the pulled pork but the regular bag mac and cheese is wrong. I’m not wrong about that. It’s very much a number nine. Just as a side note this this little booth also serves the pulled pork jelly doughnut sandwich, which is essentially a pulled pork stuffed jelly doughnut with slaw, which I think you should also gotten that. But in any case, eight spoons cafe that mac and cheese with the pulled pork on top always gets a lot of a lot of play on the instance. Yep, I love number eight. This is going to be cheddar cheese soup at LaSalle yay. $13

Chris 26:10
It’s definitely delicious.

Kelli 26:12
It is it is absolutely delicious. But there have been times we’ve gone to Epcot and I haven’t had it even if they were selling it like at the booth or what have you. I would be like man, I don’t need that this time. If we go to LaSalle Yeah, I’m gonna get it.

Chris 26:25
Let’s tell you I get a lot of grief on in Disney social media land too, because they people seem like it’s over. It’s too expensive for what you get. Oh,

Kelli 26:33
I do love LaSalle Yeah, and they’ve and they’ve changed the menu. There’s some great plant based options now. But in any case, the cheddar cheese soup is great. That’s great. That’s $13 for a bowl. Okay, that was number eight. Number seven, is going to be Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom. This will be your fries with a side of cheese sauce. Now it says that she says that cheese sauce is just $1 and now the fries are 449 So they’ve got 449 plus $1 for the cheese sauce. Now here’s what I want to point out is people call this the plastic cheese sauce and it is potentially but don’t get this confused with the cheese sauce that comes with your Mickey pretzel because those are two very different cheese sauces. The cheese sauce with the Mickey pretzel is prepackaged and it has a very produced taste to it vary over process make a good point I do. The cheese at Casey’s Corner comes out of like a nacho cheese answer dispenser like what you might get say at a football game when you ordered nachos and cheese and we all know how delicious that cheeses it’s great and you can call it plastic cheese all you want I’m just saying it’s not the same cheese as what you get with your Mickey pretzel and it’s worth the dollar I still think that is the mask as in Disney

Chris 27:51
and there’s many French fries as you get 550 for French fries and the and the cheese. It’s

Kelli 27:55
the best deal for a snack. I think that dollar cheese sauce. Okay, so that was number seven. Number six. And the reason this is number six is because it’s not there year round. This is going to be at the Bavaria holiday kitchen in Germany. Okay, so it’s only going to be there during the holidays. This is your cheese fondue and a bread bowl with steamed baby vegetables and marble potatoes so doggone good is so good. $8.25 And I’m telling you I don’t usually lit cardboard. But when I get this I do. Yeah,

Chris 28:28
they could sell that as a drink. Oh my goodness. Honestly, they

Kelli 28:32
could add cheese fondue is amazing. And I did the little veggies in it and then I still have cheese left because they fill it over that little tiny bread bowl you get thank God for the Bavaria kitchen people. And I’m telling you the only thing you’ve got left to do is drink it.

Chris 28:45
Yeah. And that’s fine. Yeah, I have it as a drink.

Kelli 28:49
I have made a political mess out of myself at the very kitchen before and I don’t hate one minute of it. That’s worthy. Okay, number five,

Chris 28:57
here we are the top five must be great.

Kelli 28:59
They are number five is going to be your case okay on jalapeno in Mexico at $7 You can get this at Lacava de tequila or La Cantina de San inhaled that’s going to be your little the cantina outside there in Mexico. So if you go to La Cantina, it’s not on the menu but you can order the chips in the nachos you know tip there do that. I’ve also ordered the nachos sort of as they are and then had them take like the meat and onions and things like that off that I don’t but you can get just playing nachos in case so and they give you a serious Disha case. Yes they do. So worthy of that $7 number for crispy mac and cheese bites at Wine Bar George. Yes, you’re right. I know I am. You’re right $13 For those crispy mac and cheese bites and they are everything you think they are. They are just I

Chris 29:54
love wine bar. George is gonna show up again.

Kelli 30:00
It is but those crispy mac and cheese bites are not to be trifled with and now tip you can get those at the little to go picnic counter now that’s good to know there’s a Pro Tip Get your Chris mac and cheese bites to go down below. Number three Lecrae Peri de Paris. Yeah, I recommend the Chevra which is going to have goat cheese spinach and walnuts This is a savory crepe for $15.95 and it is just

Chris 30:30
love it is it is the habit such a good job there

Kelli 30:33
so Chevra use your goat cheese spinach and walnuts. And I think I just about died as I was eating

Chris 30:40
we were both like can we just get another one of the like,

Kelli 30:43
I know we were really hungry. But it was worth the stop we love

Chris 30:49
we literally disharmonious to eat it didn’t mind

Kelli 30:53
no i didn’t i did not hate that. We did that. Number two I think this one might be surprising for you. Oh, number two Art Smith homecoming mac and cheese not

Chris 31:06
surprise me at all. It’s right on. So that is number one. Yeah,

Kelli 31:09
so art Smith’s Hong Kong mac and cheese is $8 and I’m here to tell you that thing has got to be illegal in 49 states

Chris 31:18
he don’t skimp on the cheese when he says mac and cheese

Kelli 31:22
I’m telling you we have set near the kitchen before where you can see the racks of this mac and cheese that are back there. So it’s they make it in these little cast iron tiny skillets and by tiny I mean it’s like a little like a little diameter scale. It’s a little crop yes cast iron. And so they’ve got those made and then you can see them I mean just stacked up to high heaven and they put fresh cheese on top of it about six pounds of it. Oh damn. Gee, they put that thing under the what is it? Bobby

Chris 31:53
Flay call salamanders Yes. Look

Kelli 31:55
at you, honey. Yes. So they put it in the salamander. It crisp it up makes a nice little crunchy topping. Oh mg Art Smith knows what he’s doing. Yes. Yes, man. He knows what he’s doing.

Chris 32:07
Yes, get it,

Kelli 32:08
get it. Get it. And number one you’re right. Number one, you’re right about this one for sure. The second yaki on fire at Wine Bar George y’all. This is damn cheese on fire.

Chris 32:20
It is a show it says cheese is everything you’ve ever wanted. Oh the one

Kelli 32:29
by flame tableside and it just they just they start to kind of shuffle it around a little bit on the plate and make sure it gets all crispy and melty and like crispy on top and you just sort of drop it on the inside there. And while you’re drooling over that, the guy comes back and refills your wine glasses with the perfect pairing that he recommended earlier. And you were just completely caught up in this cheese that is lit on fire. It’s on fire and I’m telling you $16 But once one table gets it all the table all the tables.

Chris 33:02
They sell more of this on fire cheese than any place in the world. And by the way, once the fire goes out then you get to eat it is the best part. It’s so

Kelli 33:13
good. They squeezed lemon right over the top of it and

Chris 33:15
Gosh Gosh

Kelli 33:20
So this comes out on Monday the 11th this podcast and it’s national cheese fondue day so let people make it happen. Let you sell some cheese on fire.
