So let’s just take a step back and let’s talk about why we’re even here. Right? Okay. Florida passes don’t say gay law. I’m sure that DeSantis doesn’t want to refer to that way but that’s what it’s what it is. Disney reluctantly under the previous Bob finally came out and said, You know what, we disagree with this, right? This we don’t we don’t agree with

Now since then, Disney has has filed suits and then there’s been counter shoots Ababa, say DeSantis has actively used the powers of the government to target us and to hurt our business. The problem is that the guy with apparently lives in his boots, keeps going out there on the campaign trail, and convincing people that he is he is president leadership worthy. Because, quote, or semi quote, paraphrasing, I took on Disney and one. I beat Disney. That suggests it was retaliatory, I think,

The court cases are ongoing, in fact, going in fact, records show that we’re in discovery phase here, right for most of these lawsuits and the records show legislation meant to target Disney for state mandated right inspections came directly from Ron DeSantis. Shocking,

None of this is going to be surprising. Ron says we won the battle with Disney despite the fact that the court cases are ongoing. In fact, a federal judge has set the hearing date for this lawsuit, the federal judge has set the date for March of next year, probably the back half of March of next year. That’s actually a win for Disney that Ron will tell you about. Because they’ve been the again, shocking no one, the new Oversight Board has been slow rolling the discovery. They don’t want to give right documentation to Disney’s lawyers. And so Disney has asked for this to be pushed back to March and got what they wanted. The judge says yeah, you know what, they are slow rolling the data. So in the meantime, they have approved higher building fees for Disney and other local businesses in the area 30% increase on building fees, all the little, you know, registration fees and permit fees, and so on, and so on and so on, raised an extra $1.8 million for the district over the next I guess per year. They, the the the board and the firefighter Union are deadlocked over this idea that we’re going to give you a cash stipend in place of the tickets that the park passes that you were granted as part of the Reedy Creek group. Because, of course, the firefighter union says the stipend you’re giving us is way less value than what we were getting with the park passes. But this is what the actual found out that the firefighter union actually support a dent DeSantis taking over. This is what happens when the eye will eat your face. You know, party gets control and then they eat your face and you’re supposed to be surprised. Wow. Um, let’s see here. The oversight district administrator says morale has improved. Yeah, under their leadership, despite all the defections in the 300 years worth of experience I have left including a new paramedic with 20 years of experience just this week, how are we measuring the data? I read the article to see if I can find the data behind all that. Best I can tell is he is suggesting that his open door policy has has resulted in him getting lots of positive feedback from the people that had come through his open door. That’s the seems to be open door. Oh, no. This is the new administrator, the guy that DeSantis put over.

Yeah. So but just so we’re all clear, Disney did commissioned a study from Oxford to gauge the economic impact that Disney has on the state of Florida. Yeah. Look at that. What do you mean there seem to be doing some homework here. $40 billion in economic impact for the state of Florida, not not Central Florida? The whole state, right. Yeah, that includes 263,000 jobs that are either directly or indirectly associated with the fact that Disney has this park in Florida. That accounts for one out of every 32 jobs in the whole state. Yeah. Of those 263,000 jobs. 82,000 are directly attributable to Disney World. That is one out of eight jobs in Central Florida. is related to Disney for every job on site at Disney and additional 1.7 jobs are supported across Florida. Next in 2020. For the original I believe it’s the original Elsa and Ana from the Frozen Broadway show in New York. Wow. We’ll be there performing hits from the Broadway show. Wow. Along with other people doing other Broadway shows Disney Broadway shows. So that’s all very exciting. So Raleigh Crump, who was one of the original creators for the Haunted Mansion. He passed away not that long ago. Current manner.

That was what the one of his original ideas for the Haunted Mansion was gonna be a museum of the weird. And he had that room that none of the janitors will go in and clean if you’re if you’ve watched behind the attraction on Disney plus, the janitors stopped going into this room where he had all this weird McCobb stuff that he was going to put into the museum of the weird. One of them was candle man, which was this really creepy looking candle that also looked like a sort of anthropomorphic? Like Lumiere, no, no, not friendly looking. Singing dancy No, this was a very so very creepy looking candle. Okay, it looks to have melted into the visarjan form of a really scary person. And they took that out of the Museum of the weird they have placed it on a table in the attic of the Haunted Mansion. So it’s hard to you don’t you 99 For the people that ride by it are not going to notice it or know what it was. But if you’re in if you go to the attic of the Haunted Mansion, there’s a there’s a partial suit of armor just sort of sitting off to the side. There’s a table beside that. And the little candle man is sitting on the table. Wow. So he’s got in there. Yeah, so that’s exciting. Oh, gosh. Guardians of the Galaxy cousin, where he won one the Thea Award for Outstanding attraction. This year. Very much deserved the Disney say that we are so proud to announce Guardians of the Galaxy cosmic everyone will be honored with the prestigious Thea Award for outstanding achievement and attraction in 2024 by the themed entertainment Association, wow. So on the first night they’ve already added like additional characters to, you know, character meet and greets across like jiminy crickets holiday outfits stitch in Christmas garb, Mary Poppins and a penguin waiter, which is cute. That’s cute. And some others Snow White and Dopey and their Christmas garb. So they’ve added some more that they’ve made some changes to how you get reservations at Hollywood derby. Run Derby. So, you know, they’re there, they’re gonna get it together. They will figure it out because it is expensive.

So since we’re moving on, I thought since it’s Thanksgiving week, we were told in years past we’ve talked about Thanksgiving at the like Disney World resorts. I was curious, what would thanksgiving be like aboard Disney Cruise? Okay, so I had no idea that they run this time every year they do their marry time cruises. I had did not put together until I said this to you that we’re talking about it’s like a very it’s like a play on words for maritime didn’t never crossed my mind. But I’m glad you said it. I love this idea of Merrytime cruises. So I just I looked into it a little bit. Disney website obviously provided some information, as did the Disney Cruise family travel blog, which was also very, very helpful. So the maritime cruises the Merrytime cruises. Nobody decorates like Disney. The ships are completely decked out includes a 24 foot Christmas tree typically with all the garland and everything. And one of the things you get to do during the maritime cruises is they have a traditional tree lighting ceremony where Mickey and Minnie lights light up the tree at the beginning of your trip. It’s cute. So yeah, that’s nice. They have a new holiday deck show. Just for Christmas and holiday time. There are Disney characters in their holiday garb that you get to meet and greet with. Santa Claus comes aboard hangs out on the ship. I feel like he’s probably got more to be doing around that time. But

Hey, man, you know, Disney calls you you come themed activities, crafts and whatnot for the kids. That’s good. Keep them busy. And then holiday merchandise aboard the ship course. Specifically for Thanksgiving one of the things that they do that I really You said it also, this gets the guys to buy into going on the cruise on on Thanksgiving week. Yes. But they you know, you may be familiar with the Funnel Vision. This is the big huge jumbotron TV that’s on the front of one of the funnels on the ship. And it shows Disney movies and whatnot. Well on Thanksgiving Day though, they satellite beam in NFL football all day. So that that I would like to watch NFL football from the deck of one of the Disney cruise ships say that

you say that? You say hey, you say that? It’s still the deck. There are still pools and children live. So you’re saying that would be fun to do? Yes, it would be fun. If it were all adults, all men up there just watching football cheering for the same team bla bla bla. But there are 1000 children that are basically feral at this point. Because they’ve been eating ice cream and too much food and not getting enough sleep and swimming and all of that for just even if it’s just one day. They’re feral. And you want to sit and concentrate on the football.

We typically do Thanksgiving like lunchtime, right? My impression is that the Thanksgiving dinner aboard the ship is in the evening. I don’t know how I would appreciate a football game on Thanksgiving day that I don’t feel completely disgustingly full while watching and dozing off, in and out of. I don’t know that I’ve ever watched a full football game on Thanksgiving Day. I can’t extra parts of it in between the naps after eating too much. I’m not going to have that same feeling watching the football here. So, you know, but you know, I don’t yell at anybody, John, either. sure lots of people eat their Thanksgiving dinner at night.

Here was the Thanksgiving dinner menu aboard the Disney wish. Its its very first Thanksgiving menu last year. Okay. Okay, specialty cocktails. One of them was actually a mocktail though. A peach smash which is made with Maker’s Mark bourbon, maple and spices. I’m assuming some peach in there too. I guess. Since it’s called a probably muddled a bit it’s modeled an apple pie cocktail. This is with cider caramel and ginger beer. non alcoholic. I don’t know I think to put something in there.
