Episode Transcript:

Chris 0:28
welcome aboard Disney fam. Welcome aboard Disney fam. Indeed. My name is Chris. And I’m Kelly. And Kelly is wearing her slick hipster Mickey yours today.

Kelli 0:43
I am the ones that you kept saying we’re going to be so hot on my head when we were at Disney because you thought that it was an actual knit cap.

Chris 0:52
I thought it was a knit cap. I did not realize that thing was actually Mickey ears with a knit cap on them and glasses. It’s really cool. To knit cap and glasses would be cool. Mickey had all that would be cool by

Kelli 1:09
itself. Yes. No. Absolutely. And I’ve got a really cool place to display this and a few of my other ears that I love. So yes, I love it. And these are. We’re talking about these tonight. So that’s why I’m wearing them. They’re They’re awesome. They are simply awesome. Hey, honey, where are people listening to us from?

Chris 1:28
I’m glad you asked. It’s my favorite thing to do each week. So we had downloads this week from Apollo Beach, Florida. This is it does sound like a fun place to be. It’s south of Tampa right on Tampa Bay.

Kelli 1:41
So it’s not anywhere near like where this space shuttles go. It’s

Chris 1:45
exactly opposite side of Florida. Okay, sorry. It’s across Tampa Bay from say. Clear. What do you call St. Petersburg St. Pete? Okay, here for you. Crystal Lake Illinois. 45 miles northwest of Chicago says beautiful crystal. Yeah, but in Camp Crystal Lake where like Jason Vorhees murdered all those kids in the movies. Oh

Kelli 2:04
my gosh.

Chris 2:08
Think Camp Crystal Lake is where the bad guy lives. Gosh, how about weed California?

Kelli 2:15
How about weed California?

Chris 2:19
This is a this is basically a truckstop off of I five in northern cow. Not too far from the border with Oregon. But I just thought it was a great name. It visual in my head if they don’t if it is not just chock a block full of pot. They’re not doing it right.

Kelli 2:35
I feel like I feel like they’re sort of destined for that.

Chris 2:39
And lastly, Shinjuku. Japan is a suburb of Tokyo, I think. I’m not sure Tokyo has suburbs. It’s so sprawling and stretches out so far. But this is a part of town that is just replete with neon lit like nightclubs and karaoke bars.

Kelli 2:57
Oh fine. I

Chris 2:57
think that Shinjuku is probably the place to go when you’re hanging out in Tokyo in one good time.

Kelli 3:03
Okay. Well welcome Shinjuku,

Chris 3:06
Shinjuku, Japan. I’m sure we’re saying that right. So let’s have it. It’s a main street action here. So Epcot, for whatever reason, I couldn’t see any good reasons to explain it other than they just think they’re going to see a lot of traffic through March. Epcot is going to be opening. Like historically early, like at 8:30am. The whole park not just not just what used to be Futureworld. Used to be the park opens at nine but then World Showcase wouldn’t open until 11. Or even the park opens at 10. And World Showcase opens at 11. This is the entire park opening at 830. In

Kelli 3:55
the morning, maybe they’re testing something like crowd control.

Chris 3:57
I love that idea. I mean, I

Kelli 4:00
mean, get people on Rimi starting at 8:30am. Get them buying food at 8:30am. I’ve never understood why World Showcase waited so late to open. I don’t

Chris 4:08
know I’ve never really understood that either. And even when it did, France wasn’t part of it. Right if France didn’t open up early,

Kelli 4:17
right, yeah, I’ve never understood that. Right. I’ve never understood it. So I mean, yeah, open up the whole park. I mean, and if they’re trying to sort of extend like make Animal Kingdom a full day Park. Yeah. Then again, give people places that they can go people are just gonna get to Epcot at 830 Right. I mean, especially those people breakfast in France. I mean, we talking pastries, it’s a really good point. Like I don’t I don’t get it. I mean, I don’t understand why we could waiting for

Chris 4:43
it. You can always go over to well, when Akershus was doing the breakfast buffet, you could go have breakfast there,

Kelli 4:50
right but nothing else was right. Yeah.

Chris 4:53
I think it’s a win, man. Get this park open and thanks. So

Kelli 4:57
I’m guessing it’s like they’re testing some stuff. I think it’s a win. I think it’s crowd control. Yeah, crowd control.

Chris 5:03
I think when cosmic rewind opens up, they’re gonna need to have done this testing. Right?

Kelli 5:07
They’re gonna need to spread people out between Remi and cosmic rewatch, or and they’re gonna need yeah all that they’re gonna need a full Park to do that with so more hours of the day more hours of the day has to spend money

Chris 5:18
for it. Um, and they’ve also launched with the with the Flower and Garden Festival launching, it’s either launching soon I think they have launched a new light show on spaceship Earth. Like this. Love

Kelli 5:35
this. I think Zack really he thought through this.

Chris 5:41
We’re gonna be able to do like they did the rainbow connection during the festival of the arts. Well, they’re going to be doing Pocahontas colors of the wind on spaceship Earth. You can actually already see the full show blog mickey.com I’m sure you can see that a number of other places. But I love blog Mickey and so go out there you’ll find the link and you can see the whole show there. Yeah, well

Kelli 6:01
Pocahontas is very marginalized look at her getting on the earth. I

Chris 6:04
think that every time I think that Disney worries every time we do anything or say anything about Pocahontas, it just comes

Kelli 6:10
a horribly racist movie. How

Chris 6:12
whitewashed it was,

Kelli 6:14
oh, well in horribly racist. Well, they have an entire song in there about the Native Americans called savages. Yes, they do. So horribly racist movie. But Pocahontas shouldn’t be marginalized. But those

Chris 6:29
were the bad guys. I think that that was you know, they were they were actually like, look how horrible these bad guys are. Yeah, but I think but it was definitely very, very whitewashed and I don’t think that Disney should worry about that. When we’re putting Pocahontas in the closet, man. Bring her out. Let her celebrate who she is, man. Yeah. Although

Kelli 6:47
that’s not what she looked like at all. But

Chris 6:55
oh, poor Orleans brought back their Mardi Gras parade. Last time that we ran was in I think 2020 Okay. Which is a cool thing, man on Mardi Gras on you know, on Fat Tuesday, Porter Orleans celebrates what they are designed to be by having their own little Mardi Gras parade. I don’t think it’s quite what you would get on Bourbon Street. Is that this week? No, it was last week. Gosh,

Kelli 7:21
we missed that Tuesday.

Chris 7:22
We did. We did. I missed it. It was March 1. Okay, well, last week. What were you gonna do? You’re gonna

Kelli 7:34
I don’t know. Nothing.

Chris 7:35
You aren’t gonna do anything? Yeah, I don’t think this is what you would expect on Bourbon Street. You know, I don’t think you’re you’re earning beads or anything on the porter lanes Disney’s little golf cart parade. They did. But it’s pretty cool. And it’s pretty long. It starts like way over in Disney. Port Orleans Riverside. works its way through Riverside along the water comes across the bridge works its way through the the French Quarter portion of Port Orleans. All these themed golf carts like they’ll dress up a golf cart as the tiki tiki room or the teacups

Kelli 8:08
have to be thrown beads out. I mean maybe you’re not earning

Chris 8:13
throwing beads and they say goodies are throwing goodies out Tiana brings up the rear of the prey she’s the princess I’m sure that’s the praises her

Kelli 8:20
being a prince is not a frog.

Chris 8:23
You got to let it go. Let it go down off the horse every once in a while it’s fine down here. Water spot down here at Disneyland you cannot believe this is the story right after it you get off your holiday for the first time in Disneyland history probably any Disney Parks history to celebrate the we’re celebrating women this month right

Kelli 8:53
this international women’s women’s this Tuesday’s International Women’s Day.

Chris 8:57
Okay,

Kelli 8:58
well to celebrate first time ever celebrating women

Chris 9:02
a mouse is the floral design going into Disneyland you know when you go into Disneyland in front of the train always Mickey it’s been Mickey every day since the park open but not this month. This month. It’s many

Kelli 9:14
is it just your head or she wearing pants is well we let her warehouse pants

Chris 9:18
it’s only ever ahead it’s only ever been the floral design out front has only ever been a Mickey Mouse hit well this month many many

Kelli 9:25
international women’s month Yeah. Okay, I mean you know baby steps bringing

Chris 9:29
bringing these women right out of the dark ages. Yeah, baby steps. Avengers campus at California Adventure Park was officially dedicated to Stanley. Oh, this past week. Yep, we did the plaques as we dedicate the Avengers campus to the incomparable Stanley. And then I think this is a quote from Stanley, that person who helps others simply because it should or must be done and because it is the right thing to do is indeed without a doubt a real superhero. That’s cool. Very cool. Yeah. Very cool. Disneyland Paris so on Twitter user called at mouse steps shared a quick video of the moment that drones light up in the four minute Disney delight show that precedes Disneyland Paris is version of Disney elimination.

Kelli 10:19
Yes. Now you had thought that they would use drones in Harmonix. I thought they were going to use drones inharmonious

Chris 10:23
couldn’t have been more wrong about that. But I gotta tell you, this is cool. Go out there. It’s on Twitter at mouse steps. I’m sure this person loved the plug. But they’re doing all these lights on the castle and then suddenly the the 30 logo that Disneyland Paris is using for their 30th anniversary that looks like Mickey Mouse ears sideways. These drones just suddenly light up to the right of the castle and it makes the number 30 which is fantastic. Bring more drone action due for

Kelli 10:58
it. I think Paris really should have led out some of their things that they had planned for the 30th because like the merch and the food and the drone thing they could have brought more people there I

Chris 11:08
think so I think so. Yeah, we’re gonna go Oh, hush

Kelli 11:10
hush.

Chris 11:11
Now we’re going to be celebrating our 15th in Paris on our 17th Um, Tokyo Disneyland is their Easter activities are going to return so their note about this was at Tokyo Disneyland a special event Disney Easter will be held for the first time in three years from April 1 to June 30. presented on the parade route and a modified version will be Lusa tama on the run. Featuring the Disney friends and the bunny eared bunny eared egg characters. Who’s the tama having some wacky springtime fun?

Kelli 11:44
Yeah, Tokyo does a good job with that. I’ve seen some pictures. It’s really cute.

Chris 11:48
There’s a new restaurant opening up at Disney Springs has been very hush hush and there’s still not a lot of information about it out there called Local green. The well I just said there’s not a lot of information out there. But they do say culture hip hop and fresh healthy greens in just one bite.

Kelli 12:10
Culture hip hop and fresh healthy greens

Chris 12:14
enjoy one buying bite.

Kelli 12:16
That sounds I mean that’s a lot a lot. A bite.

Chris 12:21
And I don’t I don’t think they’re serving like bite sized things. It’s I think they met in every bite maybe. Sandwich looks like a very vegan sandwich.

Kelli 12:31
Okay, so it looked like a sandwich though. That’s something Yep.

Chris 12:35
Okay. Last thing. Well, maybe that last thing I got a little bit more time here unless you eat it all up again. Disney Plus plans to introduce cheaper and ad supported plan solid later this year. I mean, I’m for that. We’ve already bought into what we’ve got. But whatever. Yeah. West Side Story is coming to Disney plus this month. It’s already there actually, which was great. And turning red comes on March 11. All the Marvel properties from Netflix are now going to show up on Disney plus on March 16. And Moon Knight, which is the new Marvel series comes on March the 30th. What’s it about? Midnight? Marvel hero?

Kelli 13:14
Oh, that’s a person Moon knights like K in IG he not GHC you got it. Okay, that’s great. Look at how I didn’t, you know, take any of your valuable time. Segment.

Chris 13:29
Well, I also had Tomorrowland. So I today I’m going to be previewing Guardians of the Galaxy cosmic rewind. I’m excited about this. I am so excited about it. Yeah. Lots of shout out kudos thank yous to D 23. And the Disney 23 magazine that comes with the D 23. Membership. And the article by Zach Johnson the new space race. It’s all about the new cosmic rewind attraction at Epcot. Last week, I talked about the seven coasters at the four Walt Disney World theme parks and I did an amazing job of all of those wrongs. I was I was I was prompted to that topic because of the announcement last week that the guardians of Galaxy cosmic rewind, would be launching over the weekend and Epcot in what used to be the universe of energy attraction, which had Elon Ellen playing Jeopardy. Oh, right. Right, right. attraction there. Yep. The building’s new name will be the wonders of Xandar and there’s a life sized Nova Corps star blaster standing out front. If you follow any Disney instagram or twitter you’ve seen the pictures of this thing coming together out front. It’s the first ever built on earth we presume. Right and it is legitimately life size. It is what they project as the how big ship would have been. If you know this is all real. This ride will feature the first ever reverse launch on a Disney coaster. And then of course the new cutting edge vehicles go 360 degrees ensuring that you don’t miss any of the action the

Kelli 15:18
Omni coaster Omni Coast’s, right? Yes. Based

Chris 15:21
on the idea of their Omni movers, like we’ve been on a million times, whether it’s Spaceship Earth, or the Haunted Mansion. What else she’s on the movers journey into imagination use the Omni movers. Okay.

Kelli 15:35
Okay. All right. I thought this was a brand new thing. I thought the Omni mover had never been done before Omni

Chris 15:41
mover has been done. This is the Omni coaster. So it basically takes that idea that they can turn you to they want you to see except you’re on

Kelli 15:52
a roller coaster. Okay, okay. Yeah. All right. Yep. So

Chris 15:55
this is gonna be wild plot. You know, everything’s got a story. All of this is Epcot. So there’s intended to be some learning element here. The idea here is if you know anything about Guardians of the Galaxy in the first movie, Volume One, they saved the planet Xandar. Right. Then Nova Corps, people lived on Sandar does Andorians have traveled from their homeworld to the in their home world that’s in the Andromeda galaxy to Earth, which they call Terra to build this pavilion to help teach us about their planet, their people, their culture, etc. Okay. Their pavilion is set in the world discovery neighborhood. So when we talk about this multi year revamp of Epcot, where it’s going from future world and World Showcase to this is World discovery. It’s like a Waterworld celebration, right? World nature or something? Yeah. This will be in the world discovery neighborhood. When the project was first announced at D 23 2017. The D 23. Expo in 2017. Walt Disney Imagineering executive Tom Fitzgerald revealed that a young Peter Quill Star Lord had actually visited Epcot as a child, and has returned all these years later with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Kelli 17:24
Okay, that’s fun. Yeah, that’s fun.

Chris 17:26
So you enter when you enter in, you’re entering what they’re calling the galaxies area. This is a planet Taylorism. Think of a planetarium where it’s actually comparing various galaxies. And so, this intends to highlight some of the similarities and the differences between Andromeda zin Dorians galaxy with the Milky Way our galaxy. Alright. Fitzgerald says about the exhibit. This was created by Zen Darian. So they’re creating the storytelling for us. What would they want to tell us about their planet, about their world about their culture, their technologies, it’s all told from their point of view, I’m going to read actually, directly from the magazine here. Where he says, a way that you can help the audience understand more about the world and our galaxy is by comparing it to another. And once we decided to go that route, we had to learn a lot more about Xandar than what’s presented in the film. So they literally went to the film makers of Guardians of the Galaxy. And they asked them about what their considerations were, as they were building what Xandar was supposed to look like on the screen. Right? Well, Xandar has three sons. So what did that mean for things like energy consumption? And how bright is it on the planet and all these kinds of things? And so they had to, as they were talking through all this, they realized, we’re talking about people and cultures and in other you know, other worlds. This belongs in Epcot, where we always are talking about other people and other cultures and other places. Right, right. So that’s where they came up with the wordplay. This is our first Other World Showcase pavilion as other World Showcase pavilion. So that all made sense to put it there. So over the course of the story, there’s a call to action to help us to have us help the Guardians of the Galaxy save our own galaxy, and maybe our own world in the process, right. So after kicking off the reverse launch, we zoom about the cosmos with the Guardians. We don’t just fly past X. We don’t just fight fly past the action. We are fully immersed into the storyline all part of the new Omni coaster technology, Liz Diaz, and imagine he or she says as imagined yours, we are always looking for new innovative ways to push the boundaries and immerse the guest into the story. Here we needed something fun and thrilling to keep up with the energy and the action of Guardians of the Galaxy. So here’s the deal. I thought back to the differences say between Tower of Terror in in Hollywood Studios versus the Guardians of the Galaxy mission breakout ride to Disney Land at California Adventure Park, and how hectic and chaotic and crazy and and awesome it was right? Because of the energy they packed into it. That’s what I’m hoping I’m hoping this as that same kind of frenetic energy. Oh, yeah, we don’t just get the story messaging on the straightaways. We also get story messaging in every twist and bank and turn okay, because the ride turns right the Omni coaster vehicle turns to face what we’re supposed to be looking at. Right so in my mind, I’m thinking we’re banking like in a in all the roller coasters we’re sort of bank sideways we’re filling those G forces right but in front of us is a movie or something that is working in time with with us on the ride. That is going to be incredible. So here are just some some quick hitters facts This is the first Walt Disney World attraction to feature the Guardians characters while Disney World attraction not including Disneyland there it’s one of the longest fully enclosed coasters in the world house and one of the largest show buildings ever constructed by Disney. This space by volume inside this building would fit for Spaceship Earth. Wow, isn’t that crazy?

Kelli 21:48
I didn’t I don’t know why I didn’t think about it being fully inside. Yeah,

Chris 21:51
think about when we’ve seen the building

Kelli 21:56
Yeah, but yeah, I don’t know why that did just just didn’t hit me. Yeah, it’s fully

Chris 21:59
inside. And a huge huge building. The ride vehicle is called a star jumper. So it’s, we call it an omni coaster, whatever but for the purposes of the story, it’s called a star jumper and no two star jumper vehicles will look exactly the same each each train as far as coasters go will be five ride vehicles long each one is considered its own star jumper and they all will look different because for the story purposes these are not the first time these star jumpers have gone into space and done their thing right so look a little banged up every one of these and every one of them will be different everyone’s had its own space experience. Okay, which is pretty cool. Again Disney with their details.

Kelli 22:44
They don’t each have a different story though. No, no.

Chris 22:46
Okay. All will they all have have had their own story. Okay, okay, that’s how we get to them. The Imagineers went to the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume three during filming, to film scenes specifically for cosmic rewind. James Gunn, the director of the Guardians movies partner with Disney to ensure that the story was authentic to the Guardians in terms of characters tone and humor. He even directed the film shoot for this ride. That’s cool. That’s very cool. That is very cool. D 23 says you can rest assured that the music will be awesome and straight from Peter Quills awesome mixtapes.

Kelli 23:22
That’d be great.

Chris 23:24
I cannot wait to ride this thing. So you’ll come out singing, singing and being like, wanting to run through walls. I’m assuming

Kelli 23:33
it’s what run through walls.

Chris 23:37
Right. We’re all checked.

Kelli 23:39
Yes, I’m gonna go a little bit different this week a little bit outside the box for me, but also for us in general. Okay, I told you I was wearing my hipster Mickey ears. Sort of foreshadowing way. Oh, okay. Yeah, right. So these Mickey ears were designed by an artist that is famous, but specifically in sort of Disney canon, right, but he’s famous in a lot of different ways. But so his name is Jared. Mario, Maruyama. Moriyama, Maruyama, Mario Maruyama. So Jared is an amazing illustrator. Okay, but he has a very specific style of illustration. And anyway, so here’s where I’m gonna go with this segment. Right. So first of all, I didn’t even know he existed until I bought those ears. Right. I had no idea even existed until about these years. I have seen his work all around Disney. I just didn’t know it was like an artist thing. I thought it was just like the latest Disney thing, right? So if you’ve seen his work around Disney, what you what you’ve saw is, maybe there’s a whole home collection. They saw a lot of prints, but it’s essentially like when you when you look at, say a platter. It’s got a bunch of a bunch of different little bitty A little bit of people on it. Okay, right. So it might have a bunch of little Mickey’s, and minis and Donald’s and daisies, or whatever. But they’re normally themed. And so that’s the idea. It’s a lot of little bitty things. They’re not interacting or touching each other. It’s just a collection of little tiny people. Okay, it’s what it looks like. It’s a horrible way to describe it. Anyway. So the reason I’m talking about him today is because I’m saying he is my number one favorite account to follow for Disney on Instagram. Okay. And the reason for that is because it’s so different. Yes, right. Super different type of content from anybody else. And so for those of you that want to follow him or want to go out and look at his Instagram while you’re listening to this, he is at JMARUYAMA. That’s JMARUYA Ma. Okay, so here’s my he’s my favorite. First of all, he did hipster Mickey. Right. Okay, so there’s that opened

Chris 25:59
the door open the as the veil came off, and now you know who J Mariama is exactly.

Kelli 26:04
But here’s the interesting part is like, the rest of his stuff doesn’t really look like hipster Mickey. But everything is just so damn cute. So if you can imagine like, you look at a Disney character, and you think, Oh, who is just so adorable? Okay, well, this dude makes it more adorable, right? How can you make Disney more adorable than it already is?

Chris 26:24
It’s hard, but this guy accomplishes it. So

Kelli 26:26
I describe all of these little people that he draws as the toddler version of the Disney character. Right? So they got big heads, round faces, pink cheeks, big eyes, tiny legs, simple designs, but really awesome. Like when you see them, you just want to smile and hug them. You just want to hug him. He doesn’t just do Disney. He also has really adorable little Harry Potter people. He has Pokemon and he does like candy and cereal. What is it that he says about himself? Because I’m gonna get there. Okay. So on his Instagram, he posts his his own illustrations like things that he’ll draw like just today, right things I sent that I drew today. Or this is a print that I drew, you know, blah, blah, blah, whatever, right? But he also posts like random breakfast foods. He loves these weird mash ups like Eggo flavored Pop Tarts. Or a lot he loves him and Toast Crunch Fruity Pebbles, so any kind of mash ups with cinnamon toast crunch or Fruity Pebbles?

Chris 27:24
I wish I knew where he found these.

Kelli 27:26
I know Cinnamon Toast Crunch popcorn and Boston Cream doughnut Pop Tarts. He did just the other week. Yeah, I mean, like just completely random breakfast stuff. I don’t really spend a lot of time in the breakfast aisle of processed foods. But clearly, he’s got a real strong in somewhere into that. Yes. So but it’s fun. It’s, it’s it’s a really fun thing that he does. So I’m gonna give you the five reasons you need to follow him on Instagram. Okay, first, he describes himself as a freelance illustrator and creator of cute.

Chris 27:59
It’s, that’s why I wanted you to talk because that is a perfect, it’s perfect scription of what he does. So imagine that Disney fied right,

Kelli 28:11
and so he will show things on his Instagram. And that’s what he’ll say to be like, This is cute. This is cute. Look at this little character here. This is cute, but he’s really into cute. He is prolific. He does a Sunday show and tell. And he’ll just show all some things that he’s created for Disney maybe that you can buy. But you also show any other random stuff he found like the Boston Cream doughnut type thing. He also will show like toys he’s found in the store. like it’d be like I found this huge avatar toy at Walmart yesterday Scott

Chris 28:43
for like, just being a creative into a living man. This

Kelli 28:48
was great. So he tries this stuff on his Sunday show entail and he’ll tell you what it tastes like. So he was eating honeycomb KitKats and he was telling you though, it’s very smells more honeycomb than it tastes me really gets into this. Like he’s some kind of a food critic. And the only reason he bought it was because it’s this really cool mash up and completely random. But again, here’s a cool toy I found at Walmart. Here’s a cool toy I found on Amazon and he’ll start telling you about the packaging but he’s not just keeping these things in the packaging. He was showing this big like Yeti thing from Avatar and he’s like the mouth opens and closes the tail goes back and forth. The legs don’t move but

Chris 29:26
he’s competing with those six year olds that are making millions of dollars

Kelli 29:30
it’s really really good I love that. But his stuff just FYI is currently selling at WonderGround gallery and that’s at Disney land in the in like the Disney Springs area. What do they call that? Oh my god, you know what I mean? Downtown Disney. So that’s the first one he is a freelance creator, freelance illustrator and creator of cute. The second reason is, it’s all happy like all of his posts are happy, but not necessarily Disney. or him in the parks. Although he does go to the parks a lot he takes pictures with stuff out there just like he’s six. But it’s not all him in the parks but every post is happy and I’m telling you I just need some happy my feet find some joy and you will be surprised how many Disney Instagramers out there are not constantly posting happy. It’s a huge Good point. Yes. So I love a happy Disney Instagram and he I think it’s just the epitome of that. Today is Oreos 100 and 10th birthday, so he drew a little dancing Oreo with a birthday hat and some candles and pink cheeks. Like can you imagine Oreo with pink cheeks. And National Pizza Day he drew the cutest pizza I’ve ever seen. I actually wanted to pinch the cheeks of the pizza box, which I had. I can’t believe I just said that. When the Main Street Electrical Parade announcement came out like he reposted the, um, his artwork from 2017 They did it last time the last time they did it and everybody’s like you got to resell this. We need it. We need it. We need it and he’s like I’m not in control of that Disney is in complete control of

Chris 31:01
what gets sold and when I buy it today.

Kelli 31:03
He was at the festival the arts booth Yeah, you’d buy today. I looked for it on eBay to see how much it was. I buy before you would. He was at the festival the arts booth like signing stuff and selling his prints. He also has things called he has this cup full of cute series with this thing called Beeline creative where he had all four of the he had Blanche and Dorothy and Rose and Sophia The Golden Girls like cups of them in his cute form. Naturally, roses sold out that right. Somebody else described his work as pure and innocent and childlike. And I think that’s also a great way to say it. Okay, so the third reason is he’s a grown man. He’s a brilliant artist and he seems to genuinely love toys Disney Harry Potter and cartoons. Just love that like oh man that man he is confident in what he likes and when he reviews this toy and tells you that its tail goes back and forth in its mouth opens and closes not half assing it he is not he is doing so with a serious face. And he even said he’s like this avatar character doesn’t sit well on top of this thing like the sizing isn’t quite right. But they do look cute together. I mean, he really gets dead serious. Here’s a toy that I bought at Walmart and I think it’s cute, right? He has worked on all of the new turning red stuff. Oh yeah. funny movie so maze little box of big feelings, which is being sold on Amazon. He did the artwork for that.

Chris 32:27
I mean, they all look like his kind of stuff. And yes, yes.

Kelli 32:32
He drew the people the girls characters and he takes pictures in the parks just like He loves being there like not like it’s a job right? You and I mean like he seems to genuinely love and I love that you got a grown man who is really into cute right? And he goes out to the parks and takes pictures like it’s his first trip ever. And I love that so much great. I love it. Okay, the fourth reason has nothing to do with Disney. He what he does with a corgi should be illegal. It’s so cute. He’s got corgis, drinking Starbucks corgis laying flat on the ground. Courtney’s dressed up for Halloween, a corgi dress like Mickey and a full bodied Mickey costume. He also drew a Teddy Ruxpin for Teddy rub, Russ, for Billy Toomas. He was the creator and former of Disney Imagineer kin. Oh my gosh, I got all that screwed up. But there was a guy who created Teddy Ruxpin who is a former Disney Imagineer. Okay, that makes it he drew a Teddy Ruxpin for that dude for his like the anniversary of his death. So that’s the fourth reason because if you think corgis are cute, what he does with a corgi, you’ll blow your ever loving mind. Number five, my hat is now a rare classic. It is so hard to find. So hard to find. I’m not selling it, y’all. But they also sell him on like mugs and things like that. Those things are going for over $100 on eBay and Poshmark you’re not selling my stuff. It’s a real Jared Maruyama hat. I’m gonna sell my real Jared hat.

Chris 34:09
That’s, that’s cool. That’s really cool. He’s

Kelli 34:12
cool. Y’all need to follow him on Instagram. I really want everybody to follow Him because it’s such a happy Instagram page JMARUY ama go follow him. It’s such a happy page and look for the Teddy Ruxpin in the Oreo and all the corgis.
